It may depress turnout - value voters sit out the election. But it won't split the coalition the way Huckabee would.

I know, thats why I hope Thompson or Romey gets it, but I would be forced to sit out if its Guliiana or McCain, I think it more important to loose the eelction then have your party take your issues off the table, like Hucabee would for you.

I see your point but what about people who sexually abuse children, and they say "dont throw your moral views on me", moral laws are all over, it just wjhat ones each country decides is ok.

You don't see the difference between what concenting adults do, and crimes against children(or against anyone as far as that goes)?

I do, im just saying the morals are legislated by government, morals cannot be "what ever seems right in each persons own eyes",, and btw the child in the womb is not a consenting adult to this abortion.

I'm not quite as down on McCain, but when it comes to Guiliani I see no reason not to go ahead and vote for the Democrat (assuming it's not John Edwards, whom I would never vote for).

ITA...however elective abortions will happen, legal or not. I had rather them be done safely. That being said, from a legal standpoint vs a moral one....
I am 100% agaisnt late 2nd trimester and 3rd trimester elective abortions.
I just don't believe reversing RvW will solve anything. What we all should be concerned wiht is putting aside the pro-life/pro-choice arguing and all work on the real problem, unwanted pregnancies. Get ride of unwanted pregnancies and you by default get rid of elective abortions.

Im arguing aganst myself now but this site looks into each candidate and the Judges they will bring to the court, and they suggest Gulliana would be better then McCain

So you would support gov healthcare, larger taxes etc just to avoid voting for a R that you don't agree with on moral issues?

Perhaps not. It will be up to the eventual nominee, to pursuade you (and others so inclined) to go to the polls and vote Republican, rather than sit it out.

They are both very seasoned, articulate politicians, with compelling messages on other important issues, especially national security.

We're also still 10+ months away from the general election. A lifetime in politics. Events on the ground that no candidate and neither party have control over can and probably will play a factor.

I still can't make up my mind on the R candidates. As a lifelong Republican, I have usually made up my mind about a particular candidate by now. I can't seem to nail down one yet. I see bits and pieces of several that I like and don't like. Not one candidate has everything that I want.

Our primary is February 12th. I guess I better have someone in mind by then.

Yeah, pretty much. I'd vote for Rudy over Edwards and probably Obama, but Hillary would likely get my vote over Rudy. I don't think her administration would do about as much/little damage as a Rudy administration.

ETA: For me with Rudy it's not so much what he's done in the bedroom; it's the constant revelations of corruption and abuse of power surrounding him.

of rights.

To be clear, you support his position that illegal immigrants should qualify for college scholarships and in-state tuition and drivers' licenses? At least those were his positions as Governor -- not sure what they are now.

Personally, the idea that we'd ever elect a President that doesn't believe in evolution makes me shudder.
