We're doing a family vacation in mid-April, taking our 3.5 and 2 yr old children. My parents and my brother are meeting us the last half of the week, so we'll have free babysitters!

This is dh's 1st trip to WDW, and I have been setting aside a little $ to surprise him with something special. Now, I don't know what that might be?!

Any suggestions? I've heard about a carriage ride, dont' know where it starts or goes. Probably not interested in dinner as that would be with our family.

Maybe a massage at a spa? Any ideas are appreciated!

Depends what he is interested in. I might get flamed for this, but IMO, most men aren't really interested in romantic things like carriage rides.

I'm going with my BF (we are 31 and 32) and he's never been before either. He would be bored out of his mind on a carriage ride though. I'm thinking dinner at ESPN club the night of "his teams" game. Unforunately, his sport is soccer and they never show that, anywhere, ever. But I know this particular game will be on ESPN2 so I am hoping that ESPN club will have it. You'd think ESPN club would have ESPN 2. :confused3

Dh and I are going to WDW for our 8th anniversary and we are doing a couples spa treatment at Saratoga. This is an aromatherapy massage, a hydrotherapy massage and they serve you tea in between. Perfect for us!

If he's more the active sort, how about renting one of the boats or going parasailing....?

Although it may not be as "romantic" as you were hoping for, I surprised my other half for our anniversary with a fishing trip. They picked us up at the boat landing at BWV and we were out for a couple of hours. He was really surprised but did say "we aren't going to catch anything". WRONG! We pulled in about 25-30 wide mouth bass in about 2 hours. We had a great time and it was something really different. He is not a spa person or a romantic carriage ride (depends on the guy). Whatver you do, have a great time!

You might want to try a fireworks cruise, or a specialty tour. The segway tour of world showcase is cool, but some of the other tours might be more interesting for the two of you

I cant say 100% that they will but I would be shocked if they didn't because Disney owns ESPN. If they didn't have ESPN that means they wouldn't be promoting their own channel. I'm pretty sure they have ESPN2 at the resorts, so its on property.

If they have it at the resort, it would make his day. :)

Coming from a guy...a carriage ride would be a waste of money. Isnt that just more for you? I think he would have fun hitting the thrill rides that you can't do with little ones. Take advantage of the baby sitters you will have, hit some of the awesome thrill rides together. If you are really wanting to surprise him with something you are paying extra for, maybe the speed boats you can rent or para-sailing?

I asked DH would he thought would be a great activity if we had time away from the kids and he replied

"staying tn the resort room alone, if you know what i mean and i think you do"

:rotfl: Lol I wasnt going to say it but belive me this was one of the ideas that came to mind.

Check out whos playing at House of Blues, maybe an artist or band will be playing during your trip. Also at city walk (universal) they have a venue at the hard rock cafe that gets national acts. There are plenty of resturants at both locations if that was in the plans as well.

I hope that at least one the gazillion channels at ESPN Club will be on ESPN2. If he misses this game, he'll be cranky all week...

i(DH) am doing all the planning for our 25th anniversary trip in June. what do i want to do while at the world?......ive been hinting about doing some laps at the Petty driving experience at disneyworld speedway. hopefully she is getting my hint dropping..... its something i have always wanted to do.

I am a total Disney nut. I have been 11 times in the last 2 years alone. I am finally bringing my husband in May for the first time for his birthday. We have reservations at Victoria and Alberts and a segway tour at Epcot. I am going to try to make the trip as fun for him as possible. No roller coasters for him, Boo. Alot of sitdown dinners to keep him cool in the May heat. So I am sure we will do alot of early mornings, then back to the hotel for an afternoon nap and then go out at night for the fireworks and shows. Disney can be alot of fun for Adults Only!
