Hubby got a Camera & I got Christmas!!! 51 Chapters Completed!! 926 Pics!

Chapter Four~~I've Finally Arrived!!

After leaving the ticket booth, I had my new AP in hand & turned towards the turnstiles to enter into Disneyland. They have a beautiful snowflake decoration that is pretty during the day & light up & pretty at night!!!

I enter the gates to the tinkling sounds of chimes & realize, after dreaming about spending Christmas time at Disneyland for many years......I had finally arrived!! I take a deep breath, admire the floral Mickey that welcomes all guests as they enter & then look for a photopass photographer. I knew I needed to get the photo for my AP done so I didn't forget. I also got a picture taken in front of the floral Mickey.

I go through the right tunnel (always) & enter Main Street. This is some of what I was seeing.

Everything was eye candy if you love this time of year.....but the thing that really captures your attention is the 60 foot Christmas tree!! It's covered with 2000 ornaments & 4800 LED lights.

Love all the Christmas touches! And love the close-ups you got of the tree!

Kinda jealous of your AP as well! Lol.

I should have taken more of the close ups......now that I'm home, I really wish I would have spent more time taking more pics of each of the main trees & all the different ornaments on them. It really is a sight to see!!!

The AP is a wonderful thing......I was sad letting it lapse back in March.....I felt nakie with out it!! :rotfl:

There is something exciting about knowing that you have one in your wallet.:goodvibes

Yeah - I found your trip report. The link in your signature doesn't work for me!

Hi Kelly!!!

Yes, getting the check was a huge relief.......it helped us get moved, pay off bills, help my son get out from a 35% interest car loan, new clothes & shoes for the kids.....an expensive camera for the hubby...... :rotfl:, my trip, etc. Of course all good things must come to an end & it did :sad2: I really wanted to put some aside, but getting out of the Salem house cost us a fortune & everytime I turned around, we were sinking more money into the place. Oh well.....it was fun while it lasted & it felt good to pay stuff off.

Glad you're here!!! :flower3:

Chapter Five~~Mickey Gets His Groove On!!

So as I was making my way down Main Street, I hear the familiar sound of trumpets & drumming......I turn to see Mickey leading the Disneyland marching band up Main Street & stopping in the area of the Carnation Cafe. They were playing songs as Mickey danced & the band members bantered back & forth.....it was something I hadn't seen before.

After watching for a few minutes, I went back to looking around at the buildings on Main Street.

Today was a Candy Cane making day.....I was disappointed that my flight wouldn't get me to the parks in time to have a shot at one, but I did stop by the Candy Palace to take a look.

After admiring the craftsmanship of these peppermint beauties, I made my way to Coke Corner to check out their tree. It's funny, now that I look back.....I only took the 2 pics & I used to collect Coca-Cola items....you'd think I would have given this tree a little more attention.

078.jpg

079.jpg

Next to Coke Corner was the AP Processing Center....but this is now all behind plywood walls. This is where the new Jolly Holiday Bakery will be going in.

080.jpg

As I leave Main Street & head towards Adventureland.....I notice how we go from Christmas everywhere to Christmas no where........I didn't see any decorations in this land. I didn't go into the little shops to see if there was a tree, but none of the signs or buildings had anything that was noticeable. So I wandered through pretty quickly. I did slow to see that Indiana Jones was closed as reported.

Next up will be a Festive time down in New Orleans!!

Chapter Six~~It's Festive Down in New Orleans!!

I walked over the bridge into New Orleans Square and spied the Pirate Band performing down below by the POTC entrance.

I turn to look towards Cafe Orleans & the festive feel of Mardi Gras is there waiting for me. The railings are covered in colorful garlands & beautiful ornaments. There are wreaths & beads hanging all over the area. Here are the pics I got.

I was disappointed that the Court of Angels was used for selling products, instead of being left alone (decorated but empty.....its such a neat place to do pics).

After spending some time in awe of the beauty here, I started to wander on but first had to stop to watch the Jazz Band come out & play.

I love the non traditional colors of the decorations in New Orleans Square. SO pretty.

My friend Dina that I went to Disneyland with last February works for Coca Cola and has for years. For years her MIL would give Coca Cola things so she has this huge collection of Coca Cola things. Not something she ever really wanted but it happened.

It's always festive there.....probably from the photographer standpoint, it's one of my favorite places in the park. There's always something to take pics of.

The Coke thing was a huge collection for quite a while, but once we started taking in foster kids, I had to box it up & then after 8 yrs of that, moving it a hundred times (ok, over stating that, but you get my point) & then adopting the twins.....putting it out has been out of the question. I've tried for 3 yrs to sell it, but it's no longer a hot "collectible"......so we just kept in in the garage. I finally sold it for a fraction of its worth to a friend who is redoing his garage into a game room & wanted to use it for decorating......he ended up with 11 boxes of asst stuff plus pictures all for $100. :sad2: Kinda sad, as I know some of those bottles & a few mugs were worth $30 & up each. If I was good at the ebay thing & could get the shipping figured accurately, I could have tried to do it that way.....but I got majorly burned selling a barbie set & diner & shipping to another country & actually losing money on them. The set was probably worth $1000 but didn't get nearly that much & the shipping basically cancelled the sale. Oh well....you live, you learn......but its now in a new home & I didn't have to move it yet again!!!

Loving all the colours in the different areas! I didn't know there was a band that played in front of Pirates. That's so cool!

The pirate band plays out by POTC, in front of NOS/Cafe Orleans & sometimes over on the Pirates Lair/Tom Sawyer's Island.

NOS is definitely one of the most colorful areas in the parks.

Loving seeing all hotels decorated for Christmas.

I love the beach ball on the bed. That is such a cute touch

New Orleans Square looks so festive :santa

Mickey in band uniform is so cute
