Do you feel these are both two day parks, one day parks or is one a two day while the other is a two day?

We will have 9 days to play

2- MK
2- Epcot
2- rest days

Those are non-negotiable

The other 3 are for AK and HS….
But not sure how. Originally thinking 2 for HS and 1 for AK, but doubting this now.
No worries, plenty of time to plan for 2024. But I love to plan ;-)

I would agree with your allocation assuming you're not going to park hop. The attractions in HS can get some long lines, particularly if you aren't using Genie +. Also, there are a few things we don't typically do in AK depending on if you have younger children or not (like the train to Conservation Station).

It all kind of depends on what kind of attractions you like to do in my opinion.

Ok, makes sense

Husband will have DAS

Tween is a thrill seeker

Dragging the in-laws with us 🤪
(They’re actually the “do anything type”, super fun)

I think your instinct is exactly right. While I absolutely love AK, it's pretty easy to get everything covered in one day. HS, on the other hand, has so many new/popular attractions and things to see and do that between the two, I'd definitely go two days in HS. And I'm with you, planning is half the fun! :) Enjoy!

I only worried that as Disneyland park goers and this being my first time that i would fall in love with AK and bedsides attractions, just want to BE there.

But with my tween as a thrill seeker 2 for HS is what I was leaning to

I agree with all the others on 1 AK, 2 HS. AK is a half day park on any trip for us. We enjoy the headliners, but other than that don't feel like we need to stay. I swear it feels hotter than even Epcot lol.

We decided to do the same thing for our June 2023 trip. The exact order is DHS, EP, rest day, AK, MK, rest day, MK, DHS, EP. I'm open to changing up the last two days depending on how we feel.

Are you staying deluxe and able to do extra evening hours? That could affect your line-up
We’ve been all over the board with this…

Started at Port Orleans Riverside with a split stay with Beach Club

Then decided just riverside

Then thought DVC studio at the Poly

Then toyed around with a 2-bedroom villa with the in-laws (boardwalk or beach club)

Then thought dolphin

Now back to the drawing board and feeling like riverside is the place for us…

This is what happens when you have your Disney world trip postponed two times over

Only if you are just doing rides. For shows and exploring, AK is at least a full day even with DAS IMO.
Pre-book Navi & Safari for late morning/early afternoon, immediately upon park entry get a DAS return time for FOP. Go ride Everest, and Dinosaur (if you like - we don't). Should be able to ride FOP by this point, go see Lion King and/or Nemo. Ride Navi & Safari, then go see the bird show. Walk the gorilla trail, if you like, or see Bug. Maybe if you go to Rafiki's you might end up leaving mid-afternoon, but it shouldn't take too long to get through all the attractions.

Saving these tips! Thanks

You can do it in a half day. But, if it's your first time, do you really want to? There's a lot to do and see. Lots of food and shops that are unique to this park. Lots of animals that can be pretty entertaining at times. My kids could spend an hour watching the dang bats if I'd let them. My point is there is a lot of really cool things, including the details in the different areas of the park, that would get missed if you just go from ride to ride, etc. There are parades and character meets. Random things that go on in the park that are unique. Especially as a first timer, you can spend a half day there and never go on a ride. These are the facts of the case and they are indisputable.8-)

I never considered only doing a half day at Ak

It’s either a one or two full days

I'd go with 2 at HS and 1 at AK. That's what we did last year. We were regretting it a bit since Dinosaur went down for most of the day at AK and we didn't get to ride it (my youngest is Dino obsessed) but we did every other ride (except Kali) 2-3 times, plus saw Nemo and FotLK. It's definitely not a half day park for us, and we will likely do more this coming summer (we got park hoppers) but between the two fo them, HS should be the two days and AK the one, imho.
