Have another question about if the following are ok for a 5 year old girl for the following two shows at Hollywood Studios

  • Lights Motors Action Extreme Stunt Show
  • Indiana Jones Stunt Show

DS9 would like these and would like to keep us all together when I can, but would DD5 be ok? Or would you recommend one and not the other?

There is lots of neat things at HS (less rides and more shows) and having a hard time figuring out our plan for the day.

Most likely both shows would be fine for your 5yo. I say most likely because some kids, mine included, are very sensative to noise & explosions and would not be OK with either one of these.

Your best bet is to watch both on Youtube and make a decision yourself as you know your child and their quirks.

What is your concern with the shows and the 5yo?

I also don't understand what you mean by "OK"?

_I_ wear ear plugs to ALL outdoor shows as they are all LOUD.

Our family has visited while DS was 2, 3 and 9. DD has been when she was 5. Our family sticks together and does every park, ride and show together unless there is a height minimum that can not be met.

Both of mine have attended Indiana Jones with no issue, DS has been to LMA when he was 2 and 3 with no issue although we did not have enough time to see it last time.

Unless there is a height restriction everything in WDW is suitable for everyone. Although there are large explosions and loud sounds so that may be offputting but I do not know your child.

Thank you for sharing how your kids did with them. I am trying to plan as much as I can all together but there are a few things we will split up on. I think at the moment, I have DD5 at Lights, Motors but not at the Indiana Jones one. Good to know your kids liked both. Thanks.

Just my oponion, but Indiana Jones is very slow moving, and My little one did not see the point in staying for the whole show & I thought she was very insightful!;)

Beauty and the Beast is more engaging, and The animation class is fun for all ages IMHO.

My kids love Indiana Jones - even at 5 or younger! We haven't done Lights, Motor, Action for a while since they were bored the last time we did it. That show is longer than some.

I wanted to point out that with the two shows the OP is asking about are outdoors and if they wanted to leave at any point during the show, they can.

To the OP, you haven't mentioned Flights of Wonder but I hope you have that on your schedule for an Animal Kingdom day. That is fantastic for a five year old as attested by both of my grandkids at that age. The nine year old will enjoy it was well.

This is good to know...easier to leave then. But the shows do sound neat and not something we'd see every day so am sure my DS at least would love them.

Thanks for the other suggestion but AK is the one park we are not hitting.

Please take her to see Beauty and the Beast. I took my granddaughter the first time when she was 4, my daughter and grandson headed to Tower of Terror so we did the show. She loved it!! The next day at MK she just kept saying she wanted to see it again. We went again over Mother's Day weekend. My grandson wasn't happy but only because people in front of us had ice cream and dummy me never thought of bringing food into the show. But now I know you can!

We've been several times. Our son is currently 10 and our daughter is 8. We rarely have split up unless it's been due to a height restriction (thankfully we're beyond that now). The Indiana Jones stunt show is not my daughter's favorite, but she has always understood that we have to do some things her brother likes as well. On the flip side, my son could probably do without attending a princess meal. but he knows we do that for his sister and that it works both ways.

You'll never enjoy Disney as much as you can if you're splitting up and not doing things together. Keep in mind that a Disney trip is just as important to a parent as it is a child. I would feel cheated if I didn't get to see the reaction of one of my children to something 'magical' because I was off doing something else.

Beauty and the Beast as well as Voyage of the Little Mermaid are for sure on our list for DD5. It's just the other shows that I'm also looking at. Good to hear your granddaughter loved it so much.

So true, and our DS will have to sit through two princess meals so a compromise must go both ways. HS has some girly shows too (as mentioned above), so am trying to see what can be split off.

In my plan since posting, I currently have both attending Lights Motors, but later in the afternoon, I have one taking DS to Indiana Jones and the other taking DD to Beauty and the Beast....for now, it can always change.

As long as your daugter if fine with loud nosies she will be fine. my family does both lights motor action and Indiana Jones together. I would do both as a family together. My family always skips flights of wonder after our first time seeing it. We were yelled at the whole time by a grumpy employee because our kids wernt sitting compleatly still. we have never had any others issues at any other shows with small children just flights of wonder.

My kid both love these shows, but the younger one is sensitive to loud noises. We brought earplugs for him for LMA and a couple of other shows.

Very good suggestion. I've noted 'ear plugs' next to the ride in my spreadsheet. So simple, but yet I wouldn't have thought of it. Thanks!:thumbsup2
