HS announcements to be made at D23

I hope something happens, but until Disney makes an official announcement I won't believe it.
I have to believe the article simply because the park is 3 popular attractions(TOT,RnRC and TSMM)2 attractions that are not as popular but you know are staying(GMR and Star Tours)a bunch of old attractions that needed to be replaced years ago or attractions that have already closed or rumored to close, there needs to be a major shake up to the park.Lights Motors action is unique because its not incredibly old and still draws a good amount of people but it takes so much space and they've had some accidents during the show where the best option may be to retire it as the space could have better use, they could do an entire land in that area.My point is that I have to believe this article suggesting a near total renovation of the park because if its not true they may just have to cut admission to the park in half, just not enough to do there, and I'm saying this as DHS has one of my favorite themes of all the parks,I think it has the most potential but too much of the park has gone untouched for years,so 6 new attractions to the park sounds about correct in what it needs.

And I think it is a mistake to not have a Muppets attraction. The movies are popular and a new TV show is ready to debut.

I agree. I was thinking maybe they'd simply revamp/move the Muppets to the Captain EO theatre. Bring in a new show in an old and underused space, keep a popular franchise in the parks, but still make room for the "big picture" plans that are pushing the Muppets out of Studios. At this point it isn't as though anyone much cares if what is in that theatre is a good conceptual fit for Epcot anyway.

As someone that isn't a frequent visitor to WDW, I'd hate to see one entire park closed while I was there. For regulars that don't want to waste a days entry on a half closed park, just pretend it's not open! We very easily spent 9 hours there in May, and if it wasn't for DD5 getting tired and whiny we could have stayed until closing. We didn't do everything there is to do, none of us rode RNR because DD is too small, and I was disappointed enough in leaving that I considered going back after DH and DD got settled at our resort for the night.

DH and I both previously visited WDW in 1981 and had one of the parks been closed for our recent trip, we wouldn't have gone when we did. We planned it as a once in a lifetime trip for DD, but loved our time there so much that we plan on going back again as soon as DD is tall enough for the rides she was too small for this time (so, 48 inches tall - 4 inches to go!), and DH and I plan on a trip for just ourselves either this November or next.

and that's how they get you! welcome to the repeat offenders club pixiedust:

According to a few podcasts I've heard, Disney is going to try and get a few quick rides up before the bigger attractions just to get something new out there and take some stress off of other rides in the park. I imagine they'll have to open this is stages as well considering it's more like fantasyland where it's in the middle of the park than it is like Avatarland that is more off to the side and out of the way.

With an estimated completion date of 2071, just in time for the WDW centennial celebration!

But just think..... that would give them 56 years to tell everyone they are indeed investing in the parks so no need to complain about the lack of new things to keep up with attendance growth.

I love all the rumors. I am scared that much like everything else Disney has done the last 10 years, when the actual announcement comes it will be decidedly more underwhelming than all the rumors.

Hey everyone - we've cleared out half of Hollywood Studios to make way for an exciting new in-park DVC value resort and Quick Service Food Court ! Whee ! All you sheep will be so excited to have a new place to refill your prepaid sugar-water jugs you won't even notice there's more and more people coming and less and less for them to actually do ! Book 180 days out to save 30 % off of the prices we just jacked up 50 % !

checked out the website then trieed to check the website's credentials; not very good. They do a lot of rumors with no substantiation.
Best thing to donis not soeculate on a rumor until there's an official announcement.

I agree. Everything written there is a big fat lie, especially the bit about Muppet-Vision 3D, which IS NOT closing!

We did a VIP tour at the beginning of June and our tour guide said that they were being moved to Sarasota Springs in 2016. I don't know how accurate that is, but he was certain that they were being moved and not removed.

I really can't see that at SSR. While there might be room for them, that would cause a major disruption for people staying there and wouldn't be very convenient for visitors. SSR doesn't have a lot of buildings in close proximity from which to hang the lights either. Maybe he meant "Disney Springs" (Downtown Disney) but I don't think that would handle the traffic well either.

DHS gets a huge bump in attendance from the Osborne Lights. I can't imagine Disney would put them anywhere they can't monetize them.

No. Actually, everything is a big fat rumor. It remains entirely possible that everything in that blog is true. Or most of it. Or much of it. And if any of it is true, then your post calling it a lie, is itself a lie. See how that works?

Looking forward to some much needed changes. It is sad to see what has happened to the studios

This park is going to be a major mess during construction with only three rides open. As much as I love rnrc and tot I may have to skip this park on my next trip

But if they place it in Disney Springs, couldn't Disney keep it open all year and add it as a part of the WPF&M ticket option?

I don't know what to think about these rumors. The only reason why my family goes to DHS is for TSMM and TGMR.

As someone else pointed out in an earlier post the 50th Anniversary of WDW is quickly approaching and it makes a lot of sense for all of the parks (and Disney Springs too) to be at their best to celebrate this important anniversary . MK has new Fantasyland and the hub expansion almost complete as well as the relatively new Festival of Fantasy Parade , AK has Avatarland well under way and a new and improved FOTLK theater and an expanded and much improved Harambe Village . So a much rumored much overdue HS overhaul , whatever form that may take, makes perfect sense from so many angles and for so many reasons . I would also expect that besides the expansion of Soarin as well as its new digital upgrade and new film that EP will also be getting some new and some reimagined attractions as well . And I'm talking about something besides the new Frozen additions already under construction in WS .

There is now way that this will ever happen. Closures will be balanced with openings so that there are always at least 6 things open.

That's good to hear I've been reading horror stories of what this is going to be in the mean time. Not that it will totally stop me from going lol. Just won't be able to spend much time there
