Has anyone attended a Hollywood Studios AH that started at park close? I’m worried too that the extended park closing won’t allow time for ride queues to clear. They now have 10pm Fantasmic, too.
Not exactly, but we once attended one of the rare Extended Evening Hours at Hollywood Studios. (Normally, Mondays=Epcot EEH and Wednesdays=MK EEH)
We attempted to enter the park just as the EEH were about to start, and we were held up a few minutes because my ticket would scan properly. It was probably 10minutes in to the EEH when we got to RNRC. As I recall, posted wait was 45, Single Rider and the ILL were both closed. We checked
MDE and posted waits were all fairly long. We were annoyed, but got in line anyways.
Our actual wait was far less than 45 minutes. We only waited 1 rotation to enter the waiting area for the preshow.
At the time, ToT was only operating one side (not sure if that's still the case). Posted ToT wait was an hour. That was the longest posted wait in the park, so we held off.
After that, we went to MMRR, posted wait was 25, but it was walk-on. I'm not sure if we did Slinky that night, but after MMRR everything we did was walk-on. I think we had done Slinky the day before, so skipped it. TSM was walk-on. We just went from ride to ride.
When we saw it was getting late, we split up. That's the only time I went to Galaxy's Edge, but Rise was completely walk-on. The entire queue was empty, and it was surreal to think about how hard it is to ride Rise during the day. Posted wait was not reality. I want to say posted wait was 30min.
Meanwhile, ToT still had a short wait. MDE said 30min, but it was nowhere near that long. It was10-15 minutes.
With posted waits so highly inflated, it had to say exactly why/how, but shortly after park close the ride queues were empty. The walkways were fairly active when we entered the park. About an hour into the Extended Hours the park was pretty empty. At the end of the night, HS was a ghost town.
