I just got off the phone with CRO. I want to add a day to my trip and with my current discount code, there are no rooms available. The guy told me not to bother waiting for AP rates because all discount rooms come out of the same pool. So, if that is true...all the discounted rooms are being eaten up by the general public while AP holders are being screwed since they are waiting so long to release AP rates. Is this true or do they have a separate pool of discounts for the AP rates?

I'm sorry, I don't know the answer to your question, But I just have to say, " Your Baby is so BEAUTIFUL"!!! I am going to be a new Grandma for the first time..

I thought each code had a certain number of rooms allotted to it. This is the first time I have heard of all codes sharing the same pool of rooms. Does anyone know for sure?

If the resort is sold out, then they won't need to give out discounts! Now you can add the room and keep trying for the discount. I happen to have gotten discount rooms even after the CM said something like that. It is a moving pool of rooms in my belief.

Thanks for the responses...I guess we'll see when and if AP rates are released.

Thanks Chatty! Congratulations on becoming a first time grandma!!! I'm sure your grandson or daughter will be absolutely precious as well! :)

Hello MosMom,

I have a reservation for the YC in May using the AXA code. I call almost daily to inquire on AP rates. A vast majority of the responses are that they may be coming in late March. No guarantees but they have always been helpful and indeed "hopeful" of the apperance of the AP rates.

Keep looking and good luck!

The reason for giving discounts is to fill up unsold rooms. AND, we are all holding ressies for months, hoping an AP discount will come out so we can "convert" to a cheaper rate.

So, if we DIDN'T already have ressies, would the AP rates come out sooner and be deeper?

Does anyone understand what I am saying?

I understand you. I believe that the codes are based on what is available to a certain degree. If they are booked then they don't need to offer discounts. The more rooms, the more discounts and the better they will be. However, they claim travel to Disney is down. All of us here are just a small piece of the pie. I think overall the hotels are only moderately filled. So I wouldn't worry about the room you are "holding".
