HRH vs. PBH

I was DETERMINED to just randomly pick one and not obsess about this one...but I just can't do it.....I need help.

I haven't been to USF since 1997 (never to IOA), and I haven't seen any of the resorts. Can anyone recommend which on-site I should choose?

People: DW (26) DH (28) {weekend away from kid(s)}

Rates: PBH: $155
HRH: $125

I was thinking that we would really like the atmosphere of HRH better, but have heard that you REALLY are treated better at PBH. Is it worth an extra $90 extra (total) to get the better service at PBH?

This is hard!!

My DH & I stayed at the HRH the last two years with our teens and we all loved the HRH. Very hip, beautiful grounds. We're not staying there this year because we have the grandparents with us and know they would prefer PBH or RP. You're young enough that you would enjoy the HRH, but I remember being your age and getting away from the kids, and the Portofino just might be the more romantic of the two.

We have never stayed at PBH so I really can't compare, but I we have stayed at HRH and the service there was very satisfying. We were treated so well, from room service to the desk to the pool staff, etc. If PBH is better, than wowee it must be like being royalty!

I don't think I would say a guest is treated better at Portofino but I would say the atmosphere is more luxurious. The rooms are larger. They have more pools and restaurants. The grounds are sprawling.

I have stayed at both and Portofino is my first choice. I love playing at the parks all day where it is high energy and being able to unwind and just totally relax in the Portofinos tranquil surroundings! So if you want the party to continue after the parks pick Hard Rock if not pick Portofino. The nice part is that since they are so close to each other you can enjoy each one whenever you like. You can share pools at all 3, eat at any of the restaurants, hang out at the bars and your hotel is a quick boat ride or bus ride away!

Dont sweat it too much, pick one and look forward to another visit at the other. One thing is for sure since staying at these hotels I could never stay anywhere else again when in Orlando. Good luck deciding!
