secured king suite for 229.00 3/24 aaa rate--platinum status loews first. Is this a good rate? Told it was on first floor if smoking is requested. Any idea of the view from this type of room?

lvm99,

You might be able to do a little better with a passholder or AAA rate but $229 is the rack rate for a garden view room at HRH so from that perspective I would say it's a pretty good rate for a suite. Your view will most likely be of the hotel landscaping or of the pool. Either view will be about the same because on the first floor the pool will most likely be obstructed by numerous palm trees. IMO There really aren't any bad views at HRH except those of the parking lots.

We stayed in the king suite on club level twice before. The rate was (ouch) $459.00. The view from there was really good. Looks out over the pool and the parks. Great view, especially at night.

Can 4 people stay in a King suite?

Thats a good question JessicaR. The king suites at RPR are for three people. There is defintely room for four in each room with a rollaway.

There's a king bed and a sofa. It doesn't pull out though. With a roll away there's plenty of room, but I think the "rules" state maximum occupancy is three. I'd check and ask about a rollaway if I were you. Room is the operative word in a king suite. The bed is kind of tucked away around the corner. You can't even see it when you first go in the room. You enter and immediately to your left is a mini-bar area and the door to the bathroom. The bathroom has another door on the other side that goes directly to the bed. No tubs here though. Only showers in the king suite. Very nice shower though. Pass the bathroom door to the left is a very long cabinet with plenty of drawer space with a nice CD player on top. A HUGE mirror also adorns the wall. A big table with four chairs is in the middle of the room. Next there is a sofa, two chairs I believe, and an ottoman. The fabrics are light and airy and are very nice. If you look at a diagram of the hotel, the part where the main hotel curves out to the wing is where the king suites are, so your room kind of has this sweeping curved feel to it.

My mom and her husband were upgraded to a king suite (from a standard gardenview!! without even asking!!) and the room was lovely. The curved feeling that YCFAN described is really neat and in keeping with the overall feel of the hotel. That being said, other than the king sized bed set off in another "room" I do not think the rest of the place is set up for sleeping. I do not know if the couch pulls out or not. There is plenty of space, however to be creative with sleeping arrangements. There is definatley enough room for 4 in a king suite, but whether or not you are comfortable with it depends upon your family's flexibility and requirements for beds. I for one would not want to have to spend more than a night on a pull out or roll away, but my son, on the other hand, would probably not complain.
