We arrived on Monday at 10 AM. We waited about 15 minutes to check-in, then headed to the parks. We were called at 3:30 to let us know the room was ready. The room was 5105 and very nice. I especially loved the large bathroom. At about 8:00, I pull back the covers so my DS can go to sleep and discover about six long black hairs in the bed. Disgusted, I called Star Services and asked for them to have housekeeping come and change the sheets. At 9:30, we still haven't heard from housekeeping, so I call Star Services again. After being on hold for about ten minutes, I hang up, strip the bed, and head down the hall in search of a maid. I find one and explain the problem. She promises to call Chris. I guess Chris was in a supervisory role. So, I go back to the room and within minutes Chris and another maid arrives. He's very apologetic and offers to make things up to us. He asks if we'd like movie and popcorn the next night, but we explain that we're going to MNSSHP and will be back late.

The next night we arrive back tired and find our beds have been turned down, and Hard Rock key chains are by the bedside. Nice touch.

On Wednesday night, we receive a knock on the door and it's housekeeping with a free movie pass and a box of hot popcorn. The kids are thrilled to be able to watch Madagascar and munch on the popcorn.

We find out that Chris has arranged for late check-out for us as well. He really did make amends.

Upon checking out, we discover our room, which had been paid for in full prior to the trip, had been charged an extra 450 dollars. I called Star Service and was told that the fees were probably extra room charges. Yeah, right! I had her look again and things were quickly corrected.

Would we stay again? Yes. The kids loved the pool, and despite the initial hairy sheets, we found the room to be very nice.

Hi, Glad you had a great time despite the problems.

Regarding the sheets. We were under the impression the sheets were getting changed daily, but it wasn't until my daughter spilt a small bit of ice cream on them that we noticed the maids were actually changing them every 3-4 days!

We also had a problem with the HRH adding items to our bill. In our case, they double billed me for room service, when I went down to inform them of this they said they were having trouble with the computers and that it would be sorted immediately, when infact it took a few days and another trip back down to the front desk to rectify the problem. For anyone stayng at the HRH, I would advise you to check your folio on the in-room TV daily.

Thanks for your trip report.

I don't think the sheets are changed daily unless you request them to be. This is the same with the towels. It is an attempt to conserve.

We just spent the weekend at HRH in Tampa and they had a little tent card that instructed you to leave the card on the bed if you wanted the sheets changed. Another card was in the bathroom saying they would provide clean towels for those that were left on the floor.

We didn't want the sheets to be changed daily. We were just shocked that the first day we arrived, not even having gotten in the bed, that I would pull back the covers and see that someone else had been either in or on the bed. I can understand if a housekeeper making the bed had let a few hairs fly, but there were so many that I doubt very seriously that the bed had been changed since the last guest visited.

That's very un-nerving!!!

A stay-over is one thing but a checkout demands changing the sheets. That is unacceptable.

Hoping that the hairs belonged to the maid and that the sheet were changed between guests!!
