HRH questions

Lots of questions on HRH and hope you all experts can help me.
we are thinking of doing one night stay on 12/22/2012.

1. Is HRH good for young kids? (my DDs will be 8 then)
2. If you join AllAccess program, how likely to get an upgrade?
3. AllAccess mentions late checkout. When is the late checkout and can you always get it? Or only if they offer?
4. For a 8am early entry, when should we check in by to take advantage of the early entry that morning?
5. How likely we'll be able to get a room before the normal check in time?
6. Is there any possibility of discounts? It's a peak season so I don't count on it, but just curious if there were any discounts during the beginning of the holiday peak season in the past.

   not sure what you mean by 'good'.
   all the hotels are child friendly.
   
   
   
2. If you join AllAccess program, how likely to get an upgrade?
   
   if you book a standard room, the upgrade would be a pool view if they have it available.
   if the pool views are all booked up in advance, you could not get the upgrade then.
   you need to ask at check in time if an upgrade to pool view is available.
   
   
   
3. AllAccess mentions late checkout. When is the late checkout and can you always get it? Or only if they offer?
   
   if the hotel at is at a high occupancy level, you don't have a good chance of late check out if the room you occupy has someone waiting for it.
   it is offered only when available.
   you are going during a holiday time.
   the hotels usually stay well booked during that time period.
   
   
4. For a 8am early entry, when should we check in by to take advantage of the early entry that morning?
   
   if you want to do the early entry of 8:00 on your arrival day, check into the hotel by 7:00 am.
   get your hotel cards, store your luggage with valet and hit the parks then.
   
   
5. How likely we'll be able to get a room before the normal check in time?
   
   during a holiday period, it probably won't happen unless the room you are assigned was not used the night prior.
   
   
6. Is there any possibility of discounts? It's a peak season so I don't count on it, but just curious if there were any discounts during the beginning of the holiday peak season in the past.

if you are staying only one night, no discounts unless you have AAA and book with it.
the promos for the public require a few more days for that discount.

the rates per season is listed on the website.
holiday rates are the highest.

We stayed at HRH two years ago when our DD had just turned 6 and she loved it. We are going back this year for a week in August. I think your 8 years olds will be just fine.

What would be your guess on the typical FOTL wait times for headliners around 12/22 and 12/23?

HRH is my DD's favorite. Your kids will love the "cool" feel. Also, they play music under the water which they'll get a kick out of. Ask about the kid activities at the pool, we've done sand guitar building contests and cannonball contests. They also play movies at the pool on certain nights.

Also, the restaurant "The Kitchen" offers character dining experiences on certain nights. We've met the Simpsons and Scooby and Shaggy there.

And I've never met a friendlier hotel staff ever. Although I've heard they all get a little eye tick at 5pm when the hotel plays "Hotel California". I'd imagine every employee who works there hopes to never hear that song again as long as they live.
