Thinking of staying at HRH in October. Do you have to pay to park your car at the HRH? If so, how much? We'll be using their transport to get to and from the hotel to the parks.

Hi

Yes you do have to pay, it was $15 per day/night last September.

Unfortunately, yes and it was still $15 a day this July. The Hard Rock is only five minutes walk from Universal and about 10 to Islands so you don't really need to hang around for their transportation to the parks.

Thanks for that, can't believe they charge if you're staying on site. Looks like a nice leisurely stroll to the parks.

That's okay. I do feel it is a bit of a cheek. A few years ago none of the hotel's charged for car parking but then some bright spark had the idea of charging then all the other hotels followed suit I believe.

We stayed at the Hard Rock from 9th July to 23rd July 2008 and I did a trip report under 'It's Nice to Share'. I am currently starting to add photos to my reports so if you want to have a peek at them, you will see what Hard Rock and its surroundings look like.

we caught the bike things up to the park one day, those guys work v hard for very poor pay, so leave a big tip:thumbsup2. the boats are lovely, but it did offend me to pay the parking fees, we paid valet the 1st night, dh organised that and im like why?? we arent goign to need the car for 4 days :confused3 .
the car park staff are brill and the stuffed our car to the brim, never thought we would get it all in. you could tell they had done that before:lmao:
tarcy

Just out of interest how much did you tip the guys? We have never bothered with them but last year I had a lot of problems with my feet and walked very slowly back to the RPR so really we should have caught the bikes, but didn't know what the normal tip was.

Wonder how long it will be before Disney start charging for staying on site. Thanks for letting me know about your trip report, I'll have a look.

I think the Sheraton charged in 2005 (though we didn't actually have a car that trip I overhead someone mentioning it) but that seems to be a chain thing. IMO it is mean to charge for parking at Orlando hotels, i'd expect it in somewhere densely populated like London or San Francisco where space is at a real premium.

Yes, but the hard rock is great isnt it!!!??????

I would go back in a flash, any body been to the one in vegas?

Hotels do charge for parking, most just absorb the cost into the base price of the stay.

Does anybody seriously thinks that Disney out the goodness out of their huge corporate heart gives parking away for nothing?

I love the place, going back for a fortnight very soon, rock music whilst laying in a swimming pool and the neighbours can't complain - priceless.

Any hotel that has pictures of Springsteen, Hendrix and the four tops in my hotel room is fine by me...
