Has anyone stayed in a kid suite at HRH? I would love to see pictures or a description.

For the last two vacations we stayed at PBH (5 nights in 2000; 11 nights in 2001) and although we loved the hotel, we got tired of the conventions taking over. There were areas we couldn't use, boats we couldn't ride on, the constant ringing of cell phones by the pools!! As we're from the UK and therefore have to pay full rack rate for our rooms, it's annoying not to have full use of the hotel. We accept that the convention trade is so important to the hotel business and this is unlikely to change, but when on vacation we prefer to be with other vacationers. So, next year we have opted for HRH. I believe the convention space there is limited, but can anyone confirm this and share any experiences of HRH? I'm a little nervous about making the change as PBH is so beautiful.

I don't wish to offend anyone who has stayed at PBH (or any other hotel) as part of a convention - all those we spoke to were very pleasant individuals who hadn't chosen the venue themselves and sympathized with our problem.

Why don't you call Hard Rock directly, explain your past Portofino stay, and ask if they have any conventions going on during your stay?

We leave in 21 days (OOOH NOOOOO!) and we are staying in a kids suite at HRH. We have stayed in a kids suite at PBH last year and were told they were very similar.

I would be happy to take notes (LOL) and post when I return. I could take pictures if someone on this board was willing to scan them for us.......... as I do not have a scanner or digital camera.?????????????

what are the kid suites supposed to look like? Portofino has them too? My kids might like this...

If you go to www.hardrock.com you can take a 360 degree virtual tour of the hotel, including the lobby, a standard room and the kidsuite. Just go under Venues and select the hard rock hotel and then select Orlando and click on the 360 degree virtual tour. Hope this helps.:p

lovelyk68 - That's exactly what I was looking for!! Thanks for the link. There seems to be plenty of space and my six-year-old said it looks "cool" so it must be OK!

pixie dust gal! - I hope you'll post details of the kid's suite when you get back. It'll be especially interesting to hear your views on HRH as I know you're also a big fan of PBH. Have a wonderful time.

Thanks for your replies.
