I am wondering if we should book Concierge or if we should just book a regular room.

It will just be DH and I. We saw some great deals on some 3 and 4 night cruises so thought we would book a cruise and then follow it with 3 or 4 nights at Universal. (We had AP's so why not lol)

Dh suggested a few days at WDW too but I vetoed that in favor of Universal.

Does anyone know what type of snacks they have in the lounge ? What type of things for Breakfast ? I'm wondering if we will be able to have 1 meal each day and snack in the lounge the rest of the time.

Breakfast is good - lots of carbs though. Donuts, pastries, cereal, milk, juice, coffee, breads to toast, fresh fruit.
They usually leave some apples and bananas out during the day. Night time snacks at cocktail hour vary. Chicken tenders, spring rolls, meatballs, raw veggies with dip. Desserts later on are usually cookies, rice krispy treats, churros, etc.
We do breakfast in the lounge, have a light lunch at parks or Citywalk and make dinner plans. We snack on the offerings at the cocktail hour before dinner and usually don't order an appetizer with our dinner. Really depends on the offerings that night. I wish the dessets would stay out longer, we are rarely back in time for it. They also have gotten very strict on closing the lounge doors at 11:00 (or a little before).

have you ever noticed if they serve hummus/chips as an appetizer at hrh. no big deal but i was wondering as my husband has a vegan diet. the veggies fruit cerals grains breads will suit him fine so that's nice to hear. hrh emailed and said soy milk was available (don't know if we have to ask for it if it's out)

thanks.

I never saw hummus in all the times we have been there. I would remember that because both of my kids love hummus. I do remember chips and salsa too. I think you would need to ask for the soy milk, I never saw it out. I find they are pretty accomodating to guests needs, especially during slower times.

We just arrived today so I can't give you a lot of details yet but we got here around 2 and there wasn't much around for the afternoon. Some chips, drinks, fruit. For dinner though, we had chicken fajitas. There was also a grilled chicken salad and cheeses and crackers and a veggie platter with tomatoes, carrots, celery, and cucumbers. We had more than enough for a dinner and we were all full. We're currently waiting for dessert to start at 8:30!! So from what I've gathered so far, it looks like we'll be able to eat breakfast and dinner in the lounge and probably need some sort of lunch out. But we'll be in the parks for lunch anyway!

Hope this helps,

thanks. we leave for our uni/hrh visit in the morning with a winter storm coming to town tonight!
