HRH - Am I supposed to get a confirmation

In March I booked two nights at the HRH for November. Was I supposed to get a confirmation letter? I've always got one from Disney, but this is our first stay at HRH.

I received a letter two weeks after booking HRH.

I got a letter about a week after I called. You also get a confirmation number.

I got one but it was 5-6 weeks after booking! We had to change dates by one night again 5-6 week for new letter. Don't know why it took so long but when we called to change dates they had the reservation. (This was before getting the first letter)
