I read a post where someone mentioned taking a backstage tour @ HRC. Could someone give me more info on this? What do we need to do to arrange it? What time of day is best to go to improve our chances of it being available? We'll be there at the end of July. Is the tour available during busier times? I was thinking we'd have lunch there one day, followed by the tour. Our DS(14) is a music junkie. I'm sure he'd enjoy it. :rockband: Thanks in advance for your help. :)

:thanks:

I got the informal tour, but only because I knew one of the servers at the time. You might try calling them at 407-351-ROCK.

I asked about it 6 months ago and they said they discontinued it. But I read that others got the tour since. We did a self tour right after they opened.

Thanks for the info. :) Our trip isn't until the end of July. Should I call now, or wait until it gets a little closer? Hopefully, we'll get lucky & be one of those who gets the tour. :wizard:

We got the tour three weeks ago. Ask the front desk at the HRC. I believe our tour guide was a cute gal named TJ...it lasted an hour. You get to see the executive "john lennon" suite which is connected to the upper balcony that over looks CW. Amazing things in there, amazing stories of those who rent the suite ( with private bar tender) for an evening ( $140,000 per evening). Original John Lennon art work and his grand piano ( white keys signed by every great pianist in the biz form Billy Joel to Elton). Lennon's favorite lounge sofa, with a hole cut out to accomodate his guitar neck while he lounged and wrote songs. Tons of other rarities and furnishings....on and on.

You may also get into the green room for the arena stage. More amazing memorabilia. Too many artifacts and signitures on the wall to list here (George Harrison's bicycle, Elvis's first recording booth).

We tipped TJ $50 for an hour of total enjoyment, if you love rock and roll.

If attaching pics was not so confounding in here, I send you few of the backstage tour.

Thanks for the info.! :thumbsup2

My dad would love this - I might ask about this tour when we're there in October! :teeth:

This tour sounds awesome!!! :woohoo: Our DS loves the Beatles. You've made my night. :teeth: How far ahead do we need to inquire at the front desk to make arrangements? We'll be there for 5 nights, so we have lots of flexibility in our schedule.

We did the tour in March, following our vow re-newal :thumbsup2

We knew nothing about it until the waitress mentioned it to DH.
We had to wait a little while for another tour to finish but were then whisked off backstage to see all the memorabilia :thumbsup2

Unfortunately we were unable to see the Beatles room as there was a private party in there but the tour guy suggested coming back to complete the tour between 1pm and 6pm :sunny:

Thanks, Alison :) It's good to see they're still offering it. :cheer2: Do you think the offer had anything to do with your special occasion, or was it offered to everyone? I guess I'll call a couple weeks before our visit, in case we need to prearrange the tour. We'll be there at a fairly busy time. Congrats on your vow renewal. :)

boxarox, thats interesting stuff! I had no idea there was a suite that overlooked CW. I would love to see some of the things you listed. We'll be looking into this next trip, thanks a lot. :thumbsup2

Thanks

I think it's open to everyone :thumbsup2

The guy who showed us round was called Tony Hume:

He gave us his card - (407) 351- 7625

hardrock.com

DH spoke to the waitress but, apparently, didn't mention our vow re-newal-what he did stress was what a big Motley Crue fan he is............ :rolleyes1
She told him that it's a little known service - all you need to do is ask :sunny:

Thanks for the link. :) An email is already on it's way. :teeth: Our DS loves the Beatles & The Doors, among many others. He will love this tour.
