The plane crashed. Once the officials in New York realize the plane's late, they're going to have every Tom, Dick, and Harry out looking for it, and then us once they find the plane but not our bodies, it's gonna be bad for us, because then the Death Eaters will get wind that we're possibly alive. And everything will be harder because we can't use magic in front of the kid because she's a muggle. This whole thing's a mess.
