How is the Tusker House Breakfast? We've never been there before and are considering that this year for breakfast with Donald.
TIA

We did this character breakfast last year and probably won't do it again. We had one of the first seatings available so that we could get into the park before everyone else. The food was pretty good for "Buffet Style" but the character experience was VERY RUSHED!!! We were sat in a very crowded room with a waiter that was not very helpful. We were told to get our food and that the characters would be around in a few minutes by the time we sat down the characters were already in the room. They were very friendly as always but Mickey and Donald almost skipped us by accident because things were so chaotic. Our waiter did not bring us drinks until we were almost finished with our meal and I had to stop him and ask for them. I hope we just went on the wrong day and that the service is usually better. :confused3 I did enjoy being one of the first in the park and being able to get on the safari ride right after breakfast with no wait. :goodvibes

We went to this breakfast last Nov and had a great time. The food was really good too. This is the only place you can see Daisy Duck and she was very animated.

It is a large place so you may have to wait for the characters to come around but they will make it to your table eventually.

I would recommend it. Plus when you are done you can go right onto the Safari because the entrance is right there.

We've done this twice and are doing it again in July. Overall, the food is pretty good for a buffet. They do try to have some "international" dishes that are fun to try, but I never seem to like them, lol. They have the traditional (waffles, eggs, bacon, etc.), pastries, fruit and cereals. When we've gone, the characters didn't spend a great deal of time at any particular table, but enough time to get photos and sign books. They also did a kid-parade with the characters and children who were given African instruments to use. Loud, but fun. I think the best character interaction we've had is at Crystal Palace, but no complaints about Tusker House. It was fine and the food was plentiful and pretty good. We had good service. You're right there to head over and fastpass the safari. If you do the first seating on a non-EMH morning, you get the whole park to yourself for a bit!

This has basically been our experience the 3-4 times we've been: good food, very poor/rushed character interaction & cramped seating.

I've never been but planned on it next trip so I'm curious to see what others think.

We enjoyed it on our last trip and are going back in July. Good selection of characters.

We did this one last May and really enjoyed it. The buffet was standard faire with a little bit of tropical flair to it. Several characters and it was fun seeing them in their safari outfits. We had 10am reservations so we could catch the safari first, then eat a good meal that would last until dinner. Have fun, fellow Tar Heel!

If you are looking for a great breakfast, this is a nice place. If you are looking for good character interaction, you'd be happier somewhere else.

We love the food here. And it's nice to meet Daisy, even if it's such a short meeting. :rotfl:

We've been twice & have really enjoyed it. Yes, the tables are close together but I didn't feel cramped at all. We were seated in the very back room, in the last row of tables. We had a great server who told us an approximate amount of time erly before the characters made it back to us. She was only about 2 minutes off. We had plenty of time to get our food before the characters started their rounds in our room. I thought the interaction was nice - long enough for both kids to get separate pictures (DD was still in a high chair.) The food was really good; DH & DS love the mango juice they serve.

Isn't Tusker House the restaurant where you can enter the park earlier than the opening (similar to Crystal Palace in MK?)

We had an awful waitress. She basically ignored us (we had to flag down another waiter for juice) and then brought our check before we were finished eating. However, the waiter in the section right next to us was awesome. He chatted with his guests and was very friendly. If we could have, we would have given the tip to the other waiter instead of our waitress. So we will probably go back and hope for a better waiter next time.

We were in a little nook that was basically just big enough for two rows of tables with an aisle down the middle. It made it a little hard for the characters to maneuver and do group shots, but they did their best.

The food was good and I appreciated that there was a little bit of variety beyond the typical "American" breakfast fare.

We would definitely do it again. The buffet had a lot of variety and from what I recall everything tasted good. AND it was great to see Daisy. We had a late breakfast but they didn't rush us at all. We were worried the characters would be gone since breakfast was really winding up and lunch was being set up. But we saw everyone - no problem. We also got to peek at the lunch buffet on our way out. I'm glad we did breakfast there instead of lunch because the food looked much too adventurous for my picky kids.

I went last November. The waitress was overwhelmed with the crowd and the food was borderline disgusting BUT.......

I was with my 4 year old daughter and this was her first trip to Disney. She loved the characters in their safari outfits, they spent a good amount of time with us (a couple minutes each) and she loved it! The atmosphere is very unique...Disney-esque!

I thought about if I would go back or not and the answer is definitely YES! Im almost glad I wasnt a fan of the food! I stuffed myself all week and a morning with my regular bagel and coffee hit the spot!

We went last August and had a great time and we are going back again this year The food was good and there was a varied selection so even picky eaters should be able to find something that they would like Also the juice was very good We especially enjoyed seeing Donald and Daisy and their outfits are very cute

We've been there twice too and have loved it each visit. It's become a tradition for us now. We had pretty good character interaction (and like others have said it's THE place to see Daisy). The food selection is good IMO and have never been disappointed, especially with the juice, which our server told us they call it POG juice (Papaya, Orange and Guava juices mixed together...if memory serves).

Some people have even called TH, Boma Light...I don't know if I'd go that far, but they do have somewhat of the same feel and breakfast items.

Yes, it's loud and yes, some areas are tighter than others, but we really like it and will continue to go back. ;)
