Ok we have 3 trips planned this yr one in about 6 wks to okw just to relax no parks. One night at vwl prior to dh and I going on the dream for 3 nights and then our annual thanksgiving trip. Today dh and ds went to play golf. Dd and I were backing out to go to grocery store and bam I have backed my armada into the side of dh Titan truck. No body hurt. Trucks are drivable Dh got the worse end the drivers front corner panel and drivers door will have to be replaced. The door got pushed up and windo does seal like it should which will cause it to leak Will def have to have fixed. My rear bumper is pushed up into the lift gate so that it drags on the bumper. So it will also have to be fixed. Mine can wait. Not sure what ins co will do as far as ded s really hoping we won't have to pay two ded s if so may trip will be off. Crap is all I can say

Man, that really bites! I hope this doesn't affect your premiums. Don't beat yourself up over this. It happens more than you think. My neighbor just did the same thing last week. I don't think they turned it into insurance though.

I hope so too. Dh truck door doesn't meet so when it rains it will leak. So we have to fix it plus it's only a yr old. Mine is 3 yrs old and I can manage not fixing it The policeman said it happens all the time and not to beat myself up

As long as your ok. Cars are fixable and there can be other trips if you have to. Dont stress over it. Ask your husband when he comes home. Besides worriying doesnt fix it. Let us know.

Thanks it could have been worse. Lucky for us it wasn't

My dad did this to my car in my driveway once.

I think you'll pay two deductibles.

Sheila

We have found out from appraiser that yes we do have to pay two ded's on our vehicles. Neither one actually makes our ded of $1000. So crapola I guess my May trip is out. Will be calling MS later today to cancel. So bummed out since I was really looking forward to just hanging out at the resort. Oh well at least I still have my DCL cruise to look forward to and our annual Thanksgiving trip.

I feel your pain!! I backed into my old car with my new car. My husband got quite the laugh out of it. Thankfully not much damage at all. So then we parked the old car in the street.

I backed into my dads car before too. But luckily our insurance only made us pay one deductible. It was mine because it was my fault. And I keep the deductible at $100 so was happy to only have to pay that.

That really stinks!

Now this may be a silly question, but I am curious at to why you called the police when you hit your own car?

we needed a police rept for our ins comp

A few years back my sister and I (and my 2 yr old DD) were leaving the house at 5:00AM for Black Friday shopping and I backed right into her car....yes, she was in the car with me when I did that. OOPS!! :rolleyes1 (She wasn't happy, but then the car was really my parents so I really had to fess up to them later.)

After I ran into the house and confessed to my DH, we went shopping and dealt with the insurance company later that day. There were deals to get!

woohoo Found out today I won't have to cancel my May trip. DH and I are going to turn in our non-taxable (flex spending for meds, co-pays, etc) receipts and use that for spending money. We are staying on our DVC points, not doing DDP. Staying in a studio and plan to take food to eat for breakfast/lunch. May eat dinner at Olivia's or Downtown Disney. My mom and I are not big eaters so we may share entree's. We aren't going in the parks this time. Just plan on hanging out at the resort. A lot can change in a week so glad I didn't cancel my ressie yesterday morning like I started to. Decided to wait til I got home from work. Glad I waited. I so needed a few days to unwind and relax.

If it's any consolation as to the cost... my stepdad did this to my car when I was a teen. Doesn't sound *too* bad, right? How nice can a teens car be? Well that car that was 'mine' was actually a 4 year old toyota celica... so it was in pretty nice shape. So my parents got the door fixed, stepdad kicked himself a bit... and then we moved on. Until he did the *exact* same thing less than a month later :rotfl: The poor guy.

Well, I didn't our own car, but less than a week before we left for Disneyland I hit a parked car at a very busy soccer field! Sad thing is I had all the room in the world, and think I had Disney on the brain and just wasn't paying enough attention :lmao:...we only have a 300 deductible, so we paid it and off we went, but was I ever mad at myself...good thing the guy I hit was very nice about it
