Born 2 Fish - We are planning on doing alot of fishing when we get there. Have any special spots along the canel you like to fish. I would rather fish than do the parks. My husband thinks I'm nuts.

A popular spot is at the canal behind 300 loop. I like to fish where the loop 300 canal bridge meets the lake.I like start there and then I fish my way toward the Fort Marina,,I would like to add that the water grasses extend from the shore out quite a ways and I do wade out into it bout up to my rear in order to fish the edges of the grass.
Hopefully the weather willstart warming up real quick at the Fort and the bass and crappy will wanna start bedd'n when you are there
I would suggest using weedless plastics and try the grasses for some bass,
,maybe crappy jigging with some small red&white or red&green plastic jiggs.
If you wanna catch some cats , try the pond over by the Meadow Bike Barn.
I also like to fish with white rooster tails,,BUT you will loose some in the weeds.
You really can catch fish just about any pond , canal, or the lake,,course it's just size that varies. And theres plenty of bream/sunfish to catch.
Now if you want to catch a nice bass,,map quest the closest bait shop to the Fort,,go get some shinners,,the bass at Disney go ape sh,,uh,, really like shinners.
Night to/and early morning is general the best fishing.
And you DO NOT want to buy any worms from Disney,,they ARE NOT magical $$$,,,buy worms from Wal-Mart before you come to the Fort.
I certainly hope you do well and happy fishing,
We'll be at the Fort the end of Oct, come back and fish with us !!
And no matter what size the fish you catch,,how many people can say "I went to Disney World and caught a fish !"
When will you be down there? We will be there from March 3-7. I checked the 10-day forecast on Weather.com that takes me out to February 24th. Looks like it's going to be highs of about 70 and lows of about 52 that week. Hopefully it will be about the same and REALLY SUNNY when we're there!
Need to mention,,it's very costly $$,BUT if you wanna catch some nice bass, and can afford it, take a Guided Fishing Excursion from the Fort Marina.
Up to 5 people can go on the excursion,,it's a 2 hour long trip, they provide EVERYTHING, all you have to do is show up at the appointed time(with your camera). They even provide drinks.
Its great fun , you will catch fish and you may even catch the biggest bass of your life,
we have done this excursion many times,,if I could afford it, I would do it ever trip.
Born2fish - Thanks for the great info. I will be at the Fort in October but the 1st week. I was thinking of the excursion but I am not crazy about the price. I'll stay on land and hope for the best. I was fishing in the pocono's last September and caught a 9 1/2 pound large mouth bass. So I really don't think I will get that lucky when I get to the Fort.
