How's the weather there right now?

Arriving from the UK on Friday - can't wait! Just wanted to see how the weather's been. I know it will be hot, and humid but I'm hoping the rain is only lasting for a short while each day!

We have been here since last Wednesday. On our arrival day, it rained from about 10 am to 3pm...rain, thunder and lightning, wind. Then we had very little rain until Monday and Tuesday (21st and 22nd). On Monday the rain started around 4:30pm at a rate of 1.5 inches an hour. The rain slowed down towards the 9pm hour but it was a steady, wet rain well through the night. And the thunder and lightning show was quite incredible for most of the night. The staff here at Yacht Club were stationed at the doors with towels and discouraged patrons from leaving during some of the more dangerous spells. On Tuesday the rain pulled in around 6pm with some incredible lightning. It was a steady rain but tonight you could do parks with ponchos or umbrellas. Hoping the nighttime rain stops so we can enjoy the parks at night.

You may be soaked at MK but the folks at Epcot at the same exact moment may stay dry.

This exactly. It has rained across the street from me and dry on my side multiple times (and vice versa). I've seen it rain in Fantasyland but not at the front gate - and you can see it pouring over there.

Just as ucfknight stated, the weather in central Florida is nothing to predict. I have been at the parks where it is storming at MK and the sun is out at EPCOT.

You can pretty much assure yourself that it will rain while you are there in the summer in the afternoon nearly every day. Weatherman's standard prediction in the summer; "40% chance of thunderstorms today". Funny thing is I've been to Disney a lot of times, and I cannot recall a trip at any time during any part of the year it did not rain some on a day during any trip.

In the panhandle where we live (Pensacola) it rains pretty much every day from the start of June to the end of August between 2:00-4:00 or first thing in the mornings. It's just the weather in Florida in the summer

Our last trip (July 2013) we saw it pouring on one side of Main Street and completely dry on the other side. Pretty fun thing to see.

We fly home today and are currently sitting poolside at an off site hotel killing the day til our airport ride comes for us later.
It's sunny and humid as usual.
One thing that I found very helpful was a weather radar app for my iphone. It allowed me to watch approaching rainstorms and also to see as they diminished. Don't leave home without it.

Yes! I have one that is done by one of our local TV stations. I am pretty sure it's not an app they created but one that a multitude of stations use, they just put their logo on it. I have my home zip code loaded, and added in Lake Buena Vista FL. I can switch between them with ease and it gives me a forecast and a radar, current and future. It's really helpful. I like that it utilizes Google Maps overlay so you can zoom in and see the entire WDW complex and can tell what part of the park is getting rain at any given moment.

Anyone looking for one check your local news stations, I bet they use the same one.

Weather Underground is the app I typically use on my Android phone. They have a very nice location based radar map.

If you don't want to install a weather app, you can just access the National Weather Service's mobile site which includes a radar loop which should work on your phone:

One of the best radar apps if you are looking for one is radarscope. It's $10 but it's awesome. I love it. A bit of a weather junky here though. Lol. Worth looking at.
