Has anyone eaten at the Wave recently? I have an ADR there for a Friday evening next month and want to know if I have made a good decision. I had switched from Rose and Crown to The Wave.

Mom and I had lunch there last week and really enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere.

I can't remember if we split an appetizer or not... the menu on allears.net isn't ringing any bells. But for the main meal I got the Spiced Chicken salad that came with apples and polenta croutons- very tasty and filling. The croutons were disappointing as I expected them to be crunchy, when they were somewhere between crunchy and soft. But then again, I've never had polenta croutons before, just regular polenta!

Mom got the Classic Reuben- very good as well, though clearly not the healthiest option on the menu! The meat and cheese were perfect, and the grain bread was an interesting twist. She got it with the papaya slaw- also a good and unique flavor. It was still tangy as slaw should be, but the sweetness of the papaya came through and it had a hint of other spices to add some mystery.

We were too stuffed for dessert! The styling was very cool- I'd love to hang out in the blue circular lounge rooms before dinner. I was surprised the dining room followed an orange theme with blue highlights rather than vice versa. My mom kept commenting on how she really loved the interior design- clean lines, interesting colors and textures, and very fitting for The Contemporary.

Overall rating: 8 out of 10- I'd eat here again, and would love to come back for dinner.

I haven't eaten here, but I just wanted to add my own question - does anyone know the hours for the bar/lounge area of the Wave and if they will serve apps (and until what time)?

We had dinner there two weeks ago. I kept debating about changing or keeping this ADR - we were so happy that we didn't change. It was one of our best meals of the two week trip!

DH and I both had the soup of the day - a corn and crab chowder that was out of this world. I had the filet and DH had the fish of the day and both were delicious. The desserts were really great - you get to pick and choose which of the samplers you want, you can mix and match.

We liked it so much we booked another ADR for our October trip.

You won't be sorry if you try the Wave.

I don't know the hours but they will serve appetizers, they had little menus in the seating area with just desserts and appetizers and the desserts are awesome!

I enjoyed my meal when I was there in June. My DD and I shared a filet, I forget what kind of potatoes they had and we added a side of asparagus which was HUGE and easily big enough for 2 people.

We were in the Wave lounge this past weekend, at least until 12:30 and they were still open with guests when we left. Not sure what time they open during the day. They do have an appetizer menu for the lounge. You could get the soup, and a couple of the appetizers off main menu. Other than that, they will not serve you any meals in the bar/lounge area.

What we had was totally fantastic. Made us really excited to try it for a full
meal next time we go back. Bartenders were great, nice wine list also. Lots of things to try.

The lounge and restaurant are very nice.

this sounds great; we'd like to check it out possibly after going to MNSSHP but didn't want to go over there if it winds up closing at like 10!
Any recs? I did see a copy of their wine list and it did look pretty good!

We tried a lot of different things that night, lol. We were with two different couples.

If you are unsure of what wine you would like they will bring you a little taste before you purchase. I thought that was great as well!

Thank you everyone for reviews. I'm excited to try out a new place to eat. Sometimes we get tired of eating at the same places every time we are at WDW. I'll be eating there on Sept. 26th so when I get back I'll post a review.

Wanted to update my post about The Wave. We at there on our last trip on Friday September 26th. I love the entry for this place, very contemporary. I do not love that you have to go down so many levels from the monorail station. We had a 7 pm ADR and only had to wait maybe 5 minutes in the round blue waiting area, which is very neat. Once we were seated things were not so great. The waiter was not very attentive. He would disappear for long periods of time. We both had the steak, can't remember which cut of steak. It came with some mixed greens on the side. Both were very good. After a long wait, the waiter brought the desert menu. I had the creamy indulgence and my partner had the crunchy option. Both were NASTY!! The deserts are the one area that was lacking with the menu. Overall I like this place, will be eating there again, just skipping desert next time.
