We are going to Epcot in Oct. and have 8:00 pm ADR at Rose and Crown. How is the Illuminations view from here?
Thanks

About 1/3 of the tables have an excellent view of Illuminations, about 1/3 of the tables have a rather poor view of Illuminations, and about 1/3 of the tables have no view of Illuminations at all (and are indoors). Asking nicely and being willing to wait sometimes increases your chances of being in that first 1/3. We've been that lucky (remarkably) about 1/3 of the times we've eaten at Rose & Crown.

Last we were at Rose and Crown we had a 7:40 ADR. We had a larger party (11). Checked in at 7:25 and said we would be willing to wait for an outside table. We were not seated until 8:45 - inside. That was disappointing as we had waited for over an hour. The first thing the waiter told us though was that we could go outside and watch Illiminations from the patio. We left almost immediatley to get good spots and were able to stand "front row" in a little patio off to the side of the outside diners. It was nice, not as nice as sitting and watching, but a nice view.

We ate @ R&C in June. Had 7:50 ADR's and were seated shortly after 8. We lucked up & got on the terrace. When I checked in at the podium, I asked if we could go on the terrace to watch Illuminations even if we were sitting inside and she said that by all means we were welcomed to do that. Don't know if that's what got us the terrace seats or not, but.... :goodvibes

We have 8:00 ADR's for September and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. My TA said if you tell them at the podium that you are willing to wait, there's a good chance they will give you a outside table (if one is still available at 8:00)! I can't see anyone having 7:00 or 7:30 ADR's leaving before the show, but who knows. Also wondering if the size of your party has anything to do with it. We are just 2 and hoping there are more small tables than large ones. Anybody know? :goodvibes

We have done this twice in 2000 and 2003. I made PS for 7:30pm. We arrived at 7:20pm and told them at the podium we had a PS and would like to set outside. We were told that this was not a guarentee. I told them I knew that and would wait for a table. We were seated both times at 8:00pm, outside with a very good view.

I'm trying to make reservations do you think 7:45 is good for the rose and crown hoping to get an outdoor seat? We are going the last week of August.

I don't want to make it too early if it's not busy but make it early enough if we have to wait for an outdoor seat.

Thanks

I was at disney last december and during the day it hit high 80's the night we went to epcot it did get a little chilly I would bring a sweatshirt.

Thanks everyone for your help. I'll call and try to move up the ADR. Otherwise, I guess we'll just arrive early and be willing to wait.
I sure appreciate the input.
