How's the Pin Trading?

We are excited about our upcoming trip to CA. DD has never been and it has been almost 20 years since DH and I were there. We have been to WDW numerous times and DD is very into Pin Trading. I haven't seen anything on this board about it. Please let me know what to expect or if there is a thread about it. Thanks in advance

I have pin traded in both DL and WDW. It is much better in WDW. I was in DL in April and found almost no CM wearing pins. I complained both at DL and DCA. the next day CM in both parks had pins. If you don't see enough CM with pins, just say something. Have fun.

I have only traded at DL & CAdven and has always seen CMs wearing pins in both parks.

My son really likes to trade pins and we were disappointed by the number of cast members wearing lanyards. Some have theirs sitting on the counter behind them at the cash registers, so be sure to ask a cast member behind the counter if they dont have it on. DW has much more trading opportunites than DL. Although, we saw many more CMs at CA than DL wearing them.

We talked to some CMs and they all told us that it is optional at DLR if they want to wear pins or not, and most choose not to to avoid the hassle. If you look hard, you will find enough to still have fun, you just have to look harder than at DW.

Thanks so much. We will just have fun with it. My sister was at WDW in November and she said that they had trouble finding CM's to trade with. This was a first. On our last trip we did learn to go to City Hall or Guest Relations and ask for the pin book. They often have one behind the counter. We always like to pick a series and try to complete it. I'm sure DD will enjoy the hunt. Thanks!
