We had to shuffle around our priority ressies because of the limited schedule for the parade and fireworks at the MK. We didn't want to be at Hoop de Doo on the only night we could see Spectromagic! We had to trade in Chef Mickey and we picked up dinner at Crystal Palace. Haven't been there in years. We know the Pooh characters are there, but how's the food?

IMHO...its better than Chef Mickey...I am not sure if its the location or what...but we always seem to enjoy the CP better than CM.

I think you will be very happy with the Crystal Palace, if you nomallly like Chef Mickey.

I would have to say that I couldn't decide which one I prefer between CM and CP, so we usually try and do both.

Since we usually go at least once for either breakfast, lunch or dinner my recollection of the menu is a bit shacky.

I'm sure on the dinner menu there was some sort of steak dish, chicken, lots of vegetables and a good selection of desserts.

Hope you have a great time.

The food was surprisingly good. We really didn't expect buffet food to be that great but the whole family liked it even my husband who is picky. Enjoy!

Thanks from me too for the reviews as I am headed their with DD in a few weeks to celebrate her birthday and have always loved the CP.

We ate there last June and it was a very nice buffet. They had sliced pork, beef and ham, a lot of different salads, hot and cold sides, plenty of desserts, and the kids buffet with typical kiddy items, mac and cheese, hot dogs, pizza and the like. We thought it was good for a buffet.

We have been lucky with service, our waitress was very helpful, came back at least 3 or 4 times during the meal to refill our drinks, without asking and made sure my little one was ok, she had just woke up from a nap.

We got plenty of character time, visited 2 times each by all the Pooh characters and we were they about an hour. Several even got down on the floor and played for a while with Julia and the place with pretty busy that night.

All in all a nice time and a nice dinner.

BTW we ate here many years ago, before it was a character bufet and boy have things improved!!! All I can say back in '90 it was GROSS!!! It made McDonalds look like 5 star dining. LOL

Thanks everyone for the replies. Sounds like we will enjoy it. DD4 loves the Pooh characters. Sometimes a change in plans is a good thing.

We LOVE CP!!! We make a point of eating there at elast once evry trip and we plan on having "christmas dinner" there.. regardless of the characters (who interact with all guests really well.. they really take their time) The food standards are excellent and our daughter Teri loved the Ice Cream sundae stand, where she could load up on m&m's sugar strands and strawberry sauce (euch!!) hey, it's the holidays!!

Do you have to wait for the 60 day 'mark' to make PS at CP like you do for CRT? Are all the MK restaurants 60 days for making PS?

Thanks,
DJ

We were just at CP two weks ago and enjoyed it very much. I was surprised because we did not like it two years ago but most of the selections were different and much better. Our waiter was also very good as he kept up with the drink refills and split the check without a problem.

The first time we went we didn't care for it but we gave it another shot so we could see Pooh and Friends and we really liked it.
