Looks like we may be able to fit in a quick budget trip next month! :cool1: It's my DH's Grandma's 90th Birthday, she lives right there in Cypress. So they are throwing a big party for her on Sept 13th.

So hey, I'm never one to pass up a chance to go to DL. Not to mention we missed Toy Story Mania by like 2 weeks in June. So I'm dying to see it.

Here's my plan. Like I said short trip. Come in very early Friday. Spend all day Friday in the parks. Go to MM on Sat morning. Then go to the party, not sure how long that's gonna be. But I imagine we'll be able to get some park time in that evening. Sunday, parks until late afternoon when we'll have to head to the airport.

Not a long trip, but we were just there in June. So this will be a , hit your favs, and of course see Toy Story! :goodvibes

Anyone go around then know what it's like? Hoping low crowds since school will just have gotten back under way. I know HM will be closed, but that's ok, we saw it in June. Any tips for deals? Probably looking to stay at the Tropicana or Desert Inn.

Hi Jen,
I am going that weekend, too. I think mid Sept and mid to late January are the slowest times at the parks. At least that's what I've experienced. The only drawback is sometimes it is really hot, we get Santa Ana weather conditions that spike up the temps in Sept (sometimes!). I was lucky enough to snag a 50% off Ent Rate at Hojo's for two nights. But I booked it months ago. I have only been on TSM once myself and look forward to going again. :)

Oh, and a big Happy Birthday wish to your DH's Grandma on reaching her 90th - that is awesome! Have a great trip.

Thanks lulubelle! :) I know I checked to see if the ent rate was still around, figured it was a long shot! Tropicana wasn't too bad, I think around $89 a night.

So plan to wear shorts then? hehe I know last Oct I made the mistake of packing all pants, and it was hot! I was surprised! Not gonna do that again.

I know 90 is really something, and she's quite the lady too. Very active and not slowing down. It will be nice to surprise her with us coming.

We went last year Sept. 3-14. It was very hot but I kept hearing that is was hotter than usual. Towards the end of our trip the weather was definitely starting to cool off a bit. However, weather is really hard to plan for. The previous year we went in December and it was really warm during the day. Both times we still needed a light jacket in the evenings.

The crowds were great during the week and totally bearable on weekends. Of course, in our book, anytime at DL is better than no time! Have a great time!
