Just came back from a wonderful trip to the world! Now I want to start planning the next one! :wizard: We would probably go from Dec. 18th-23rd to take advantage of the value season. how is the weather around this time? Warm enough to use the pools? This might be a trip when we go to the parks pbbly only one day (epcot pbbly for Le Cellier) so we can get the dinning plan. I think it would be a nice change not to have to stress about the parks for a change. Anyone been to WDW around this time?

Thanks!

It's fabulous!! We were there Dec. 8 - 13 and the weather was cool. It was the first time I ever stayed in AK for the whole day!! It wasn't that crowded.

We decided on a Sunday to go to WDW that Tuesday!! Talk about last minute planning. But we got the ADR's we wanted and rode everything we wanted. Had a wonderful time. This year we're going for New Year's Eve. Not looking forward to the crowds, that's for sure!!

I was there for a few days last year, Dec. 20-22, and it was fine. Parks were a little more crowded than I'm used to, but the weather was fine - sunny with temps in the upper 60's to mid 70's. In fact I'm planning on doing this time again this year, Dec. 16-22.

HTH!!! :teeth:

We went down Dec.12-24. The weather was great during the day usually around 70's. At night you required a sweatshirt or light jacket as it seemed to drop a bit. We did use the pools during the day but even though they are heated we didn't at night. We found the crowds to be wonderful up until Dec.22. We didn't attempt to enter any parks after the 21st as it was so overly crowded. Hope you have a wonderful time. If you love x-mas time you really can't get anything better than visiting WDW during this season!!!

Glad you had a great time! :thumbsup2

As far as planning for your trip in Dec. I would consider mid-Dec around the 13th -18th. The dates you are planning to go it will be EXTREMELY busy because it's the week before Christmas. Value season really ends on 12-21 and then goes right into peak season, but it will be peak crowds by 16th I gurarantee because Christmas is only a week & a few days away, so be prepared (make lots of ADR's, FPs may run out on some attractions, etc).

In mid December the weather is usually awesome, if you encounter any rain it's usually because a cold front is coming through. It could be 60 that next day but then warm up into the 70s the day after. It varies, but I love that weather as it's very comfortable in the parks.

Mid December crowd-wise...This year you'll need to go way before the 16th or so, after that forget it, it will be PACKED! We learned that the hard way this past Dec. We went from the 16th-22nd, too busy for me. The first day was ok but by Friday the 17th everyone started to arrive and it just got so busy. I wouldn't go back again this time. (earlier--yes--but we'd be gone by mid-Dec).

Looking at the calendar this year if you want to avoid high crowds you'll want to go before the weekend of the 16th because Christmas is the following Monday and many families will start arriving the Friday a week and a few days before (the 15th). Just figure, 2 weekends before Christmas. Prior to that it shouldn't be too bad.
