That's very interesting. You don't think that a 20% gain in AF speed would be a $700 factor either?

for 20% faster AF, then I would have to think about it, and I would have to be sure it is true.

I am just getting into the SLR thing and I have to ask the 18-55 mm lense that comes with most cameras how far and how close is it god for for example how far from the castle can you be to get a good shot with this lense or can you shot across the lake at epcot and get a great pic or is it too small to get zooms at these ranges and how close to something can you get before you are unable to use this lense? i know these are rather easy questions for experienced people but as i said I am coming from a P|S

For a good idea, take a look at this gallery, I was at the very front of my learning curve with my XT when I was there, all pics with the kit lens, except maybe the animals on the safari ride, I can't remember if I took the 75-300 there or not, but that would be the only ones not taken with the kit. Some of the pics are terrible, but as I said, I was just learning.
