Help. I need the pros and cons for these hotels. We are using it for just a night as a cheap option the day we drive in. We will be arriving late and just want a CLEAN place to sleep so we can check into WDW early the next morning. Your help would be much appr.

Depending on what you are paying you may be able to get something nicer and cheaper from priceline or hotwire

We decided on HoJo Maingate East due to a couple factors (kids eat free at participating nearby restaurants, for one). Also we got a great rate with a discount code of KISS. (It is $29.95 or $44.95 with that code depending on when you're going. We're paying $45 - well $53 with taxes and fees). HTH :)

Howard Johnson = big no no in my opinion..
I stayed at one near Disney and it was simply disgusting.

I would not recommend the Howard Johnson Maingate East. We booked with a code from Dreams Unlimited and we were completely discusted!!! The room smelled funky, nothing seemed like it had been cleaned in a looooong time, the bathroom and vanity light did not work (although they fixed it fairly quick) and when we went to find out what restaraunts offered the deals with kids eating free we were told there were none :sad2: That was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. When we checked out, the 2 people ahead of me checking out ended up not having to pay. I'm not exactly sure what the deal was there, but neither of them were happy with the accomidations.

AND as I stated for that price you can get a much nicer room with Priceline or Hotwire

Have never tried Roadway, but HoJo Maingate East huge nooooo! Not clean, not friendly, just yuckky! I wouldn't do it ever again. I had a $29.00 reservation a few years back and I had to leave an additonal 100 deposit or credit card although the room was pd. for in advance just to have the phone turned on. All the pipes and hardware were rusty, the room had a little leak under the sink that made the carpet all wet, the nearby free food was not all that nearby and ickky too. We were even given a wonderful prelicked and reopened "tip envelope" from the maid with a lovely thank you in advance written in Spanish! Yuck Yuck Yuck! I think you could do much better on travelocity or priceline.

Crap - now you've all got me worried. When I posted about this previously, I got decent reviews overall :(

Thanks I will have to keep looking. I got a good rate for the Days Inn Maingate east by old town. Has this hotel been renovated? I cant remeber the web site i was on but it got good reviews. Last time we stayed there it was musty and dirty. Like I said we only need a place torest our heads fpr one night before checking into POR. HELP!!!

Last time I asked I also got some decent reviews for Hojo just a few months ago. We're in the same situation just needing one night before we check into our resort onsite. I booked at Hojo for $35 plus tax, all we need is a place to sleep and a shower in the morning. Can't beat that price. I haven't seen any reviews for Rodeway.

ok maybe I am wrong,
Are you referring to the one next to watermania?
I have stayed at hojomge many times and i didn't have a problem there. I like the area, plainty to do. And I do not spend all day in the room so I do not want a Disney Resort type room, paying $100+ a night just to sleep 6 or 7 houts and take a shower. I did not smell anything funky or see any bugs or anything like that. Last year we got stuck ther durung the hurricane and although they were booked up from people running inland before the storm and after the storm, they gave us our rooms for 2 more days free. The power was knocked out that night in the storm and all out food went bad, so they gave us 2 free nights. (They also knew amtrak was messed up and that was how we were leaving too). I have never had a problem with there custimer service and I am a customer service goo roo since I worked in retail a long time. I booked 14 days there this trip 7/20-8/3 (although I may cancel 2 days and go to the Nick hotel our 1st 2 days to surprise my kids)

Any time you want additional info and response on hotels etc check with WWW.tripadvisors.com simply type in the name of the hotel and city and it will search and give review etc from people who have stayed there. I have found this most helpful in addition to this board.

Thanks for the link - that is a great site full of info :flower:

That's a great site indigoxtreme gave you. I just re-read my post and laughed at my addiction to this site. I'm typing half asleep and in the dark, misspelling everything :flower: . HAA HAA
