Howard Johnson, Main Gate... Anyone stayed there?

Hello All

We are coming to Orlando for the first time in the start of January. I booked our rooms at the Howard Johnson just outside the main gate of Disney. Have any of you on the board ever stayed there? And if so, How was it? Thanks in advance to all who reply!

We've stayed at HoJo Maingate East twice before. If all you're looking for is a clean, comfortable place to stay, this motel will be just fine. The last time we were there, the kids ate for free at the IHOP next door. Also the hot tub is nice for parents. We met lots of nice people from around the country sitting in the hot tub each night. If your ressies are at Maingate West, I can't help you with that one. Good Luck w/your trip.

Yes... Our reservations are at the West site. I guess I should have put that Thanks though for taking the time to answer my post.

we've stayed there three or four times and are also going back end of Dec - admittedly the last time was a few years ago so it could all have gone to pot since then, but it was okay, basic but clean -although I'd advise you to ask for a room by either the main pool or the other pool at the front. we once stayed at a room at the back and I felt a bit isolated.
