Does anyone have any expereince with young kids and Soarin'? My son will be 3 yrs 2 months when we go in Oct and is already 40" tall, which I think is the required height. But will it be too intense? Will the restraints fit him?
Thanks :sunny:

If your child meets the required height they will be fine. The seat belts have a optional stap that straps under and around (between their legs) to the front of the child's belt so they are unable to slide out under the belt. (I used this option myself the first time I rode) :teeth: The ride is beautiful it's like floating on a hang glider not zipping fast like a roller coaster.

I took DS 8 and 4. DS8 was scared in line but loved it when we went on. DS4, whose favorite ride is Big Thunder, was scared to death. As soon as we went into the air he started to cry. All I could do is let him bury his face in my arm. If your chid is afraid of heights I would skip this one.
The safety restraints were very good and they gave us plenty of time to get everyone situated. I stood while helping my 2 get buckled. I figured they would see me standing and would give us time. I'm not sure if they will begin to rush people as visitors get more familiar with the ride.

Soarin is a wonderful and smooth ride. I don't have any kids that young anymore but my DS(11) loved it. You have no idea that you are up in the air. You are just floating and tilting with the screen. It is a wonderful experience that I would recommend highly.

We have returned to flight, now let's go back to the Moon.

::MinnieMo We just got back and my 4 yr old who only makes the 40 inches with sneakers ( sandals were to short) loved this ride. It is not intense or scary. Very smooth and my son made it his new favorite ride ( along with TT). Don's sweat and have a great trip ( but hit Soarin early in the day)!! ::MickeyMo

I think it just depends on your child, obviously from the differences you have already recieved in replies. My DD almost 6 was scared to death of Goofy's Barnstormer while DS 3 rode it twice. But then DD 6 rode Star Tours twice and rode Soarin' twice with no problems whatsoever. The only thing that I could think of was that she was old enough to "get" that she was not really going anywhere in Star Tours or Soarin'. She actually did Star Tours first, so then I knew that Soarin' would be no problem.

Hope you have a great trip!
