How would you schedule your last day?

We have 5 day hopper passes. I tried to schedule my parks by the "best" day crowd wise. Even though it will be crowded anyway. But I did check out the calendar and went by the recommended or not recommended suggestions.

We start Monday the 8/3 . I really wanted our last day(friday ) to kind of be the day where we can catch up on stuff we missed and hop all over. We would have already experienced all the parks. DHS was recommended for Tuesday and Mk was for Wednesday. Both parks were recommended on Friday. I chose to go to DHS on Tuesday and MK on wednesday. I didn't want to wait until the last day to do a park for the first time.

I have gone back and forth with this decision wondering if Wednesday might have been a better day to leave open so we could sleep in the middle of our trip , and maybe take it easy. Maybe going to MK that night after an early dinner and watch the fire works. We have our car and are offsite , so the parking pricing maybe an issue. Maybe it's less if you come late?

Then on Friday we could go all day but not have to worry about going to the fireworks since we have to get up early the next morning. On Friday we were going to do what we could and then head back for a late dinner(maybe 7-8) at the Miller ale house before heading back, getting packed up and getting a good night sleep.

I have to make my fp+ tonight for the last day and now Im kind of wondering what to do. Which park would I fp+? I kind of won't know what ride everyone would want to do again until they actually do it.

Hmm...as I am typing this I wonder if I want to switch to Wed. being free. I have my fps scheduled but I can always move them back in the afternoon for Wednesday. Or I could leave Friday open but I won't know what to fp and for which park. I know it most likely will come down to Dhs and mk.

But my dh and kids think Epcot is lame and we will get through it in half a day. But the more I learn about the world showcase, the more I want to explore it. I have never been to each showcase and attended their attractions. My ds9 is into facts and thinks history is pretty cool, so I think he will love it. But I think we could get that all done on Thursday.

Ugh..Im not sure. What would you all do..

Well, I can only say that we usually go 6-7 park days with a travel day tacked on to beginning and end, and we almost never feel we've done all we wanted to do at WDW, and we go home exhausted! I'm not really saying its a good idea, and every time I swear I'll have a break day built in to the middle, but I never end up doing it. We just can't seem to hang back and do nothing when we know there's all this park fun to be had!

So. . . For me personally, I wouldn't be able to leave Wednesday (only your 3rd park day) as a slow, take it easy day. I'd assume it's a full park day and plan accordingly. I like the idea of leaving the last day for favorites in one or two parks.

Go ahead and take a stab at it based on your family's ages and general travel likes/dislikes. I am pretty common in my need for 2 days each at MK and Epcot, one each at the others. If your family thinks they won't like Epcot, then MK sounds like a good guess of what park you'll hit again on Friday. Go ahead and make FP for MK. . . If you're on the trip and find you do want to go back to MK, you're ahead of the game with your FPs already picked.

If you decide to redo a different park, no big deal. Just try to reschedule your FPs and you're no worse off than if you had just left them unselected.

Any day I think I might be at MK for any part of the day, I want to make FP+ for MK. There are so many options, so many things a person probably wants to do over, so many things where FP+ is beneficial.

Already mapping out my trip for next April: Friday is my last day, too, and I like do-overs, and I know HS and MK were the recommended parks at that time this year - Anyway, my tentative plan is to hit DHS at rope drop for one more run at TSM and a last time or two on Star Tours, then I'll head over to MK for the rest of the day, with FP+ scheduled for that park. That's just my take.

I also would agree that I would not wait until the last day to make my first trip to a certain park.

And I'm one of those commando people with the attitude that I can sleep at home! That's not to say I won't have a morning in there when I don't run to RD, but I'm not doing a "rest day" where I don't go to a park for at least part of the day.

Just my rambling.

We always end our trip with fireworks at MK.

But we don't pay any attention to all of those crowd calendars.

MK for sure. If you are tired on Wed, sleep,in and just go to MK a little later. Or, rope drop, but plan to leave at lunch and hang out at your hotel in the evening. You will have more wiggle room if you know you are going back Friday. Plus I always end at MK! Feels more important to me than starting there!

I think I'm just second guessing myself. We aren't commando people. We arent planners either. The fact that I am on the ball and planning is different for us. I have said in past posts that this is the first time I have scheduled fps!

I think that is a good plan to not feel like we have to rush to rd on wednesday. I already have my fps. And can move them back.
I agree with ending at mk. We have to drive all the way back to nj..so we wont stay for the fireworks.

Just to be sure... if I have the 3 fps at mk
.my 4th would have to be at mk too right?

WE always plan a Friday MK day, no matter what. Fridays alwys seem to be less frantic to me, so we run with it. I agree with the others who suggested that if you even think that will be your last park, plan your FP and change later. You know you're good for now.

One thing I will say is that I got all worked up the first time I had to plan FP for my parks. We are not big planners in general. I plan park days, and ADR's around the, but never worried if my parks changed. All of a sudden I got wrapped up in the DO or DIE FP planning and made it much more difficult than it needed to be.

I suggest that since you generally are not preplanners, you are lightyears ahead of where you generally would have been, so if you want to change once you are there, it really is no harm no foul. You may not get those treasured perfect time perfect place FP, but would you have gained them under your old Legacy FP? Who knows. Enjoy your trip! You will have fun no matter what!

Our last day is always shopping at DtD or relaxing around the resort. This way we have a day that is not super "exciting" and it a great way to transition to going back home.

You can make your 4th FP at a different park but you have to reserve it at one of the booths at the park.

We usually try to make MK our first and last park of the trip, regardless of what the recommended park is. We also usually travel at the end of our last park day, so our last park day is relatively short (for example, we might need to get on ME at 2:30, so we plan to be in the park until about 1:00). Generally we just wing it on the last day, and everyone picks something that they want to do again, or we do something that we missed. On our most recent trip, Pirates was having technical issues and was open and closed numerous times during our trip, so we wanted to try and ride that our last day, my son wanted to ride Buzz again, and I wanted to have another Dole Whip, so those were our main objectives the last day.

As far as fast passes for the last day go: just try to guess and make them now. During the trip, you can change your selections. You probably won't be able to get some of them at the prime time you want, but you'll be able to get something, and hopefully you'll have already hit your 'must do' items prior to the last day, so anything you do get will be a bonus.

MK is always our 1st park day... RD to Wishes. Our last day is more of a relaxed MK day, stop & smell the roses sort of thing. I am a huge believer in a midweek break.. It works for us. Sleeping a bit later. Swimming, DTD, and this is usually the night we go to our 2credit dinner ADR. I have teen boys so this is also the day they set out to explore the resort on their own. Rent bikes. Swim. Grab lunch etc. Everyone's family dynamic is different.

We always do MK on our last day -- my kids' choice. I let each child pick one thing they want to do before we leave, which usually ends up being Space Mountain and Jungle Cruise. We also have to get a Dole Whip.

Thanks guys! Nancyg56 that is exactly how I'm going to handle this trip. I'm in a good position fp wise . But whatever happens ...happens. There are certain things everyone wants to do..so I have to make sure they are in my day. Dh and DS have to see the stunt show. We have seen it plenty of times but they love it. My dd's and I are more eh about it. But my dh and DS don't want to miss it and would be annoyed if we did for an adr or a fp..lol. So some planning is necessary. It's fine though because the girls and I will see if we can do frozen sing along...which they don't care about.

I know us and we will need a morning where we sleep in and not rush to rd. I don't care about not starting with mk..I just want to end with it.

I ended up making later day mk fps. So we could do another park in the morning if we want.

Now what do I do? Lol. It was fun making fps at midnight.

If at all possible I like to bookend our trip with MK...lately I've been a little more flexible with days on either end, but I love ending our trip at MK...no matter what the crowds are like. We usually do 1 full day at each park, and 2 days at MK. Our last day before we head out we will have a character breakfast at one of the resorts and some light resort hopping if we are in the mood, then off we go!
