How would you plan this arrival day?

We will have already arrived in florida a few days earlier, so not dealing with flights/airports on this day. We (3 kids, me, DH and my mom) will arrive at WBC around noon-ish and stay for the week. Assuming room won't be ready until 4pm since this is the tail end of peak spring break week. Will be expecting grocery delivery (which I will have held w/ resort until check in). We are spending the evening at Epcot, eating table service dinner in the park, and watching IllumiNations.

I am not sure what to do until check in time or what time to schedule dinner. One child still naps- and this is what is throwing off my plans. Help here would be really appreciated!

Even if the room is not ready you can check in and use the pool or even go to the park. We typically check in at 8 am and this gives us a whole day in the park on day one. Half the time the room has been ready and if it is, they will gladly let you have it. I say do whatever you want to regardless of if the room is ready or not and have a great time.

Have you requested early check in? I would try with all my might and maybe have a quiet afternoon (naps and maybe swimming) until your evening plans.

In my experience, my kids napped in strollers (better than at home for my DS with ADHD) at parks, or out even at a pool.

I'd go directly to the park you want and have child nap in stroller. Enjoy your trip!!!

You may have to hope for a stroller nap on Day 1.

We had a similar arrival situation where we were coming by a rental car. We arrived at 10AM and our room was ready (like you pointed out during Spring Break you might not be this lucky, but you might be!).

Whether the room was ready or not, we had planned to head out to a park and have some FUN! If possible, what about booking some FP+ for the afternoon in Epcot, have an early dinner and then, since you might have had a nap skipper, get a good night's rest to attack the next day first thing?

Without knowing the ages of your kids, I'm not sure how they would handle a late night the first night, and the effect of a late night on the next morning. My kids were only 5, so a late night would have meant a sleep in morning, so I'm not burning their candles at both ends first thing.
