How Would You Design A Disney Resort?

I kept hitting the Quote button because I think all of these are awesome ideas! I'll just say to everyone, they're all GREAT! :thumbsup2

An Indian themed (Middle Eastern/Asian) theme. Kinda like the Taj Mahal.
I love:love: the STAR WARS resort idea! That one would be booked solid!
Ladies, this is how we get our DHs to keep coming back to Disney. Build a STAR WARS resort!:rotfl2: They will actually plan the next vacation for you and probably book the bounceback offer before you check in!:lmao:

Maybe a Movies based one. Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid. Alice in Wonderland. A Bugs Life. (Trying to think of neat movie ideas.)

I would like an art Nouveau Resort. With beautiful peacocks walking the grounds.

I LOVE the medieval idea! ::yes::

I think it would be cool to have a 'Haunted' Disney resort. Naturally, it wouldn't really be haunted, but similar to the Tower of Terror theme, it could have some spooky elements. Maybe chains rattling (not too loudly of course) in the lobby area, some hidden special effects where you'd see spooky shadows on the walls and grinning skulls. I'd still want it to be kid-friendly, similar to MNSSHP with statues/images/shadows of the fab five, all in fun. And the best part would be a Villain Character Meal buffet, featuring some of the best.....Cruella Deville, Jafar, Malificent, Queen of Hearts, Gaston, Captain Hook, Emperor Zurg, the Wicked Witch from Snow White. I think that would be the ultimate fun character meal! :stir: ;)

Don't forget Hades... My daughter's favourite villian!

I would love to see a Villains Themed resort--goth motif with scarier scenes from all of the fav movies.

Now this is something she would love as well... Must have Scar too!

Pirates of the caribbean theme.
The outside of the Hotel would look exactly like a giant pirate ship.
Old world charm with the victorian style like in the movie and parrots talking to the quest welcoming you when you enter the main lobby.
There would have to be an awsome bar that sereved only the finest rum! Yum!:cool1:

I also would love a hotel fashioned after the tower of terror. That would be so cool I think.:cool2:

I would love a middle eastern theme like the pavillion in Morocco with rooms of course..

Maybe an old fashion glamorous hollywood theme - but it would be an "all suite" deluxe so families of 5 or more had a semi-afforadable alternative to mods and values. Just because there are alot of us doesn't mean we do not appreciate a little luxury!!

How about a resort theme after the Epcot world show case...........each section would be a different country.........each room would be themed in the country it's in........that would be sooo cool. To experience the different designes of each different country.

it would be like 2 vacation in one.

The food options, main lobby and pool area would be a little bit of everything.

i'm so on board with you about this one!! one of DH's and mine FAV store is Villians n' Vogue, LOVE IT. so i def think this should be a theme resort. i wouldn't have it designed as "loudly themed" as the Value resorts. Make it a Mod, but very eerily classy :goodvibes . oh man, i'm excited just at the thought!! where can i book :rotfl:

but since there is talk of WDW expanding into making a 5th Park dedicated to the Villans themselves, this very well could be a legitemate resort in the near future! :)

I've always wanted to be a disney imagineer. I think it would be a lot of fun to create disney magic and see it come to life. So therefor Im ALWAYS thinking about new shows, rides, resorts, character meals.

I would love to see a Rainforest Resort called the Disney's Rainforest Lodge. It would go in the AK area. The layout would be similiar to AKL. The pool area would be surrounded by tropical rainforest trees and shrubs. And as you walk through a tropical rainforest setting to get to the pool, you will see several animals from the rainforest. And as you emerge from the trees, you will see this huge waterfall and the pool area of the waterfall would be the pool. There would also be rocks around the pool area to look like a real waterfall. The savannah porition of AKL would be the rainforest porition. From your balcony instead of overlooking a savannah, you'll over look the rainforest the contains wildlife you would find in a rainforest. The playground area could be based off of the Jungle Book and maybe have a kiddie slide at the pool in the shape of Kaa. There would also be a character meal breakfast featuring the characters from the Jungle Book and Tarzan. All the furniture in the rooms, lobby and restraunts would also be made out of Bamboo.

Another resort I have came up with is called Disney Homes Beach Resort & Spa. This would DEF. be part of the deluxe resorts and be in the MK area ON the monorail line. Imagine coming up to a huge building with disney characters painted all over the building, you step inside, you see fountains in the lobby. In the back part of this building is a door you go outside to. You walk outside and your instantly transported into a fairytale. You first come to a stone path and along this stone path you see cottages from Snow White, Pinochio, Sleeping Beauty, Enchanted. These cottages can sleep around 5 or 6 people (sorta like the FW Cabins). Next you to come to an area where it looks under water and you come to Ariel's castle. Each room inside that castle has an underwater feel and look. Then you come to the grandest of them all. The castle's area. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and gazebos. (Can we say a new wedding spot?!) You would see a replica of Cinderellas Castle, Sleeping Beauty Castle, Beauty and the Beast Castle. Inside the castles there would be guest rooms sleeping 4 people, suites sleeping 6 people and on the very top floor of each castle is an apartment that takes up the entire floor. That could sleep MANY MANY people. One side of the castles would be facing MK so you could see Wishes from your balcony. The guest rooms inside cinderellas castle would be EXACT replicas of the castle suite in the castle in MK.

Another resort I came up with is called Disney's All Around the World Resort. This would be in the Epcot area. This resort would face Epcot so that one side of the resort from your balcony you could see the fireworks from IllumiNations. Anyways, this resort buildings where the guest rooms are would be the shape of each country's icon in Epcot. Such as Mexico, the building would be a shape of a pramyid (sp?), American Adventure a mini replica of the white house, France the building would be the Effiel Tower, etc. And in each room the furniture, carpeting, bedding, curtains, etc. would come from that country. So in the france building everything would come from France. This of course would also be a Deluxe resort.

Disney's The Black Peral Resort. This name says it all! The resort would be in the shape of the Black Peral. There would be a character meal featuring Capt. Jack, Elizabeth, Will, Barbosa. This could either be a value or a Mod resort.

I like the idea of the India theme. It would actually be very interesting to see what they would with that. Especially with the restaurants and food options. It seems like Disney has been theming the food at the resort restaurants more and more to keep with the feel of the resort, so I would be curious to see what kind of spin they might put on Indian cuisine. I think it would be an great to see how they would tackle the challenge bc curry is such a big staple in the dishes and something that alot of kids may not like and I think can be an acquired taste in general. I actually am not a huge fan of curry, so it would be neat to see what they would do with that and how it would appeal to people like me.

A rainforest lodge would be awesome! .. besides my own ideas (;) ) I love this idea the best. :goodvibes

I would do a villains theme...with a dark bar/lounge with Jack from The Nightmare before christmas palying the piano to greet you. And a pool with red & purple lights with smoke coming out of it to look more like a bubbling cauldron. I'd make every building themed by a different dark character with room decor to match. I think that would be fun. :thumbsup2

Ancient Greece / Rome

They could incorporated a nice Greek themed Rest with Belly Dancerrs and All , A Hercules themed Character Breakfast

The Pool could be in a state of Ruins.

Think of a better version of Ceasars Palace.

I kept hitting the Quote button because I think all of these are awesome ideas! I'll just say to everyone, they're all GREAT! :thumbsup2

You just made me hit the quote button a second time in addition to the first suggestion I made bc I keep doing the same thing. So I had to quote you and let you know I thought the same thing.

How about an under the sea resort? I think that would be cool with coral colors and some pearls, the pool would be like a lagoon with reef that does not cut you.

I loooove this idea too. It would be nice if they could find ways to incorporate little mermaid and nemo, especially bc I think little mermaid is very under utilized at disney.

I like the Under the Sea idea... but I will think more, because there are so many possibilities...

Just came up with another great idea but this time for a value!

How about Disney's Pixar Resort! Have each building represent each pixar movie to date including Wal-E! They could do the big icon's. Have the pool set up so it looks like Nemo's world. And in each room have stuff that would represent that movie like on the walls, the bedding, etc. On the walls, do paintings of the movie scenes either in frames or draw the paintings on the wall itself! :thumbsup2

I think there should be a resort representing places from their best loved movies like a Neverland resort, Wonderland resort, or dark forest (Snow White).

I also think a resort centered on ancient China (or modern China) would be great.
