How Would You Design A Disney Resort?

Disney is rather notorious for themed hotels. If you were going to design a themed hotel, which theme would you chose?

Well since I stirred the pot on the adult only theme and stealing a cue from the folks who posted, I would go with a very luxurious palace theme with the grandest of suites and the most affordable of "staff" quarters for guests who couldn't do the suites. I would want folks to feel that they were in fact the King and Queen of Disney much as Walt wanted his own suite. It would also serve the Lords and Ladies of the Palace.... Elegance to the finest degree.

My experiences with many of the WDW resorts is that once you get past the commons areas of the resorts they all feel the same be they moderate or deluxe. Not here...... Each room will make the guest feel that they are in their own palace and no, it doesn't have to cost anymore than what is already being charged!!!!! lol

I'd theme a resort like an old 40's style up-scale hotel ala Tower of Terror(without the floor dropping elevator). :cool1:

Since I am a teen, it would be a teen- friendly resort. There would be rooms where we could rent that are 90% less than the price of the regular room, and much more teen friendly stuff. The teen rooms would also be next to the parents room, not adjoining, but much, much, much larger (since we need space.) There would be areas in the resort only people 17 and younger could go in, and areas only people very small oculd fit in (areas hidden to adults.) And all of this would be in a value resort.:cool2: :cool2: :cool2: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Yep - perfect! ::yes::

I also liked the ideas for the colors, such as purple and gold, and other nice rich colors for the rooms. I would like to do a Lords and Ladies suite, and also the servants quarters (hopefully in an attic like setting) myself.

The 40's Hollywood hotel theme also sounds kid of cool though... hummmm :hyper:

I am thinking exotic looking, I am more into the curtains, beads, crystal...canopy beds. With more neutrals, with rooms that have whirlpool bathtubs and NOT just in the suites or DVC, I mean the rooms.
Maybe more of an Egyptian feel to it.:confused3

and lots of candle!;)

I'm think a japanese style one would be good.. ::yes::

I agree I love the idea of an asian theme, either japanese or chinese would be awesome....I have been hoping for a long time that they would do something like that.

I'd definately stay there if they did a japanese theme...the possibilities are endless with it!

How about an underwater resort like 20,000 leagues with an island above?

No? OK. The Egyptian and Japanese themes would be welcome.

My DD and I have always thought a medieval themed resort would be cool. Also a real live Hollywood Tower Hotel like resort with working elevator of course ;)

I'm sure she'd love a asian themed hotel though!

I think it would be cool to have a 'Haunted' Disney resort. Naturally, it wouldn't really be haunted, but similar to the Tower of Terror theme, it could have some spooky elements. Maybe chains rattling (not too loudly of course) in the lobby area, some hidden special effects where you'd see spooky shadows on the walls and grinning skulls. I'd still want it to be kid-friendly, similar to MNSSHP with statues/images/shadows of the fab five, all in fun. And the best part would be a Villain Character Meal buffet, featuring some of the best.....Cruella Deville, Jafar, Malificent, Queen of Hearts, Gaston, Captain Hook, Emperor Zurg, the Wicked Witch from Snow White. I think that would be the ultimate fun character meal! :stir: ;)

Ohhhh, I like the haunted theme and the underwater theme idea.

I've been imagining 2 themes for years..

Old Hollywood themed deluxe, in the Studios/Epcot area.
Colonial America themed moderate, in the MK area.

My daughter loves Mickey, so I'd have to go with a Mickey's Clubhouse theme that resmebles the show on the Disney Channel. Complete with the Clubhouse as the main building, maybe Pete's Garage as one location, Pluto's doghouse as another. This would be similar to the POP and All-Star resorts with huge characters. Maybe even a "Toodles" that makes noise.

Those of you who have small children and watch this with your children everyday will completely understand. :)

Another theme I wouldn't mind seeing is a Disney Adventures Resort that would have buildings that highlight various Disney Adventure Movies. Maybe Indiana Jones, Star Wars as two of the locations. I like a Pirates of the Carribean portion two. I was thinking a 4-movie themed location. And they would be movies that won't "die out" like the 3 above haven't.

I would love to see a Villains Themed resort--goth motif with scarier scenes from all of the fav movies.

How about an under the sea resort? I think that would be cool with coral colors and some pearls, the pool would be like a lagoon with reef that does not cut you.

I like the castle idea too.:goodvibes

 Me I would like a DISNEY resort with mickey and all his friends on the walls.
Basically no theme, just Disney magic :stir:
