How would this work..questions about having an AP and doing the DDP

I am planning a vacation for myself, my sister and 2 nieces. I have an AP, they do not. If i were to book a room for us at POR and use my AP for a discount, how would it work getting them tickets and the disney dining plan for them, possibly me, or not me?? Can I do that?

It would be a ticket less package. Everyone in the room would have to get DDP. Even you.

Everyone who is technically on the reservation will be required to have the same dining plan. However, you can choose not to put some people on the reservation and they will not have to be on the dining plan. When you arrive at the resort, you can add them as "day guests" and they will have access to the room with a room key they will give you. You can't really do that if you plan for everyone to use DME, or if you want your "day guests" to be able to get 60+ days of fastpass reservations. You also won't get Magic Bands for those not on the reservation.

We did this last summer. I and my daughters had an AP but my mom did not. We bought the ticketless package dining plan for myself and my daughters, but not for my mom. We just added my mom to the room when we arrived at the resort. We drove, so no need for DME, and Mom did not go to the parks, so need for her to get fastpass reservations. All four of us were able to split the dining plan credits because credits are tied to the room and not to a particular person.

I just did this same thing. I had an AP room only reservation and the CM had to change it to a "ticketless package" to get the dining. I received a return of my original deposit ($600ish) and was charged a new deposit of $200 for the ticketless package (same resort and room type). Packages have different requirements than room only reservations so it couldn't just be transferred over and my reservation # changed as well. I have to prepay a month ahead and can't cancel as close either.

I have an AP and my two kids don't so I'm planning to buy them park hoppers through one of the discount sites to save a few bucks in time to link the tickets for our 60 day fast pass + reservations.
