How would a CM know the difference between a 2 and a 3 year old?

I'm sure that even 5 yr. olds have passed the turnstiles as 2 yr. olds. But in the case of 2 or 3, how could a CM tell the difference? It's not like we parents carry an ID of our kids. I've seen it happen WAY too much.

Generally, they trust each guest's personal integrity.

I carried I.D. for my daughter on her first visit. She was two months shy of 3. I had her birth certificate (the small wallet sized kind) with me in my wallet. Any question on her age(no one even asked) and I had proof that she was still 2.

Well, I think they trust too much. I'm kinda bothered by it just like I was bothered to read the extensive thread on shoplifting and no one does anything about it. I'm not saying I have a solution, but it seems to me that these acts have to be lessened.

Am I mad or what? I'm going the first week in July!!!!

Because this question is asked frequently and it tends to go bad rather quickly, can we agree that the answer is 'Disney trust parents to be honest'? Disney also has the right to ask for proof if they would like it.

Let's try to keep this thread from turning into a debate about whether or not guests are justified in trying to beat the system. The age for paid admission is 3 and up.

You're not mad, Marc. It is very reasonable to be frustrated by the prevalence of others benefiting from lying or deception.

The first time we took DD to WDW, I emailed them to check if I needed to bring ID for her to the parks. She was 13 months old and I didn't want to be carrying her passport with me all the time in case I lost it. I wasn't sure if they maybe checked the first time you visited and issued a special pass so they were counted as a guest inside the park. :confused3

They replied that they didn't check and no special passes or ID would be necessary for our visit.

I guess they just trust everyone to be honest.

Sorry mod, although I searched, I didn't find a thread with this subject. You're more than welcome to delete it, but could you let me know where to find the last thread regarding this matter?

Thanks,

Marc :earsboy:

No worries, marcbelt. :) I'm not sure why it didn't come up on a search, but hopefully your question has been answered sufficiently. It's a fair question, but one that does tend to bring on rather spirited debate. ;)

Thanks for posting the part about proof. Ds is still VERY young but I will make sure to take his birth certificate along when he is 2 just to make sure all is well. ::MickeyMo
