will we be ok in shorts and golf shirt and blouses with a collar? or do we need to go back to the resort and put on long pants and such.

you should be fine. The dress codes at the signature restaurants aren't strictly enforced. With shorts and a collared shirt, you likely won't be the most casually dressed persons in the restaurant. I suspect the rule of thumb at the signature restaurants (regardless of what the dress code says) is that so long as you don't look like you've come straight from the pool they'll seat you. Anything beyond that seems to be at guest discretion.

has anyone actually been in there and witnessed people actually dressed the way they would be in the parks all day? i am not over thinking this, my DW is, and she is afraid of either not being allowed or being stared at for being underdressed. you married men out there will understand this im sure.

We ate dinner there and we went back to the room and changed to something a little nicer. I was glad we did.

You will be just fine. Many will be dressed like you and the outfits you describe are within the dress code.

We had dinner there last week and as always there was a mix...even at our table. DS1 wore pants and a dress shirt and DH and DS2 had on shorts and golf shirts.

If your wearing a collared shirt....are the shorts "dress shorts" if they are....you'll be totally fine.

We have gone there straight from the parks. We just went to the park that day in nice shorts and collard shirts. It was fine.

You will be fine. I wore a black skort, teal tee and flip flops (not cheezy ones) and DH had on Levis, sneakers and a Polo...there were a lot of super casual dressed people

that's how i dress at signature restaurants: skort, tank and sandals - DH wears a collared shirt, dress shorts - never felt out of place

My parents went the first of May. They both wore shorts with polo shirts and came from Epcot.

We ate at Yachtsman several weeks ago and saw several patrons in park attite--T shirts and shorts that wouldn't excatly fit everyones description of "dress shorts". Same for the other signature restaurants where we ate that trip.
You do not need a collar on your shirt--a t-shirt is just fine, absent any offensive wording or pictures.

dalt01: No one is going to stare at you. There will be too many people dressed super casual. In fact, if anyone at the Signatures gets "stared at" these days, it's folks who are too overdressed!!!

I am exactly like your wife & always worry about being underdressed. We went there for dinner last year and I made us go back to the room to put nicer clothes on and as soon as we got there my husband quickly pointed out to me there was a mix of people dressed straight from the parks to fancy.
Noone will notice what you are, or aren't, wearing so just go and have a fabulous time!!! Logically, I know this, but can't seem to tell myself that : )

For cooler weather is a nice pair of jeans and collared shirt ok? Any anti-denim policy we should know about?

You will be dressed like the majority of other patrons wearing that.

These days, unless you are eating at Victoria and Alberts, dress shorts and a shirt with a collar will never be out of place.

Disney realizes that many of the restaurant guests are also Theme Park guests and they are not unreasonable about the dress code. On top of that they realize that Florida is hot and with 99% humidity they don't want their dinner guests passing out.;)

Our first trip this year was in Jan and we took another couple for their first visit. The husband didn't pack anything but jeans and went to all of the signatures (a different one each night) wearing jeans and never felt out of place.
