I am very saddened to hear this news, and like most of you, very surprised. I met Beverly Lynn mainly through these boards, and a few times while at Disney. She loved the DIS and the group of friends she had met here. She was a kind and giving person, who had no reason to be, as her life never seemed easy. I, like many of you, witnessed and was the recipient of her many kind acts. One of which is very dear to me and I would like to share with you.
Many of you who know me know that I lost my sister to breast cancer 2 years ago. My interest in pin collecting came from my sister, Karen. My sister fought a long tough battle with breast cancer for 2 years. Beverly Lynn was very supportive of me and what I was dealing with. Very unusual for someone who lived so far away from me, and to be honest whose only common interest with me was Disney.
While she and some of her CCSS friends were at Disney one week, Beverly wanted to do something for my sister. She was talking to a cast member in the UK pavilion, and somehow told her about my sister and her situation. Long story short (and some of you CCSS ladies maybe able to fill in this part of the story) this cast member put together a Gund bear with pins from all over epcot and sent it to BLs room. When Beverly Lynn returned home she sent it to my sister. When it arrived, my sister was comatose, in the last stages of her death. I remember telling her about the bear, and showing it to her, describing to her each pin and where the bear came from and all of that. It was such a beautiful gesture, and brought me much comfort to describe it to my sister. I have saved the bear so that her two young boys can know the story of how a stranger sent this bear to their mother out of kindness.
I will always remember how Beverly Lynn took the time to send that bear, when she had so much she was dealing with in her own life. I am sorry that I did not have the chance to speak with her in the past few months. She was a very special person and touched many of us in many ways.
These are some pictures that she asked me to host for her, and there are some I have added as they remind me of her
You will be missed Beverly Lynn!!
