How Will We Know If AIE Closes?

While I would be very upset to see AIE go (one of my favorite shows at WDW), I've heard about WDW doing this for years. From as far out as a year after it opened, they've been looking to close it and it has just been legal stuff that has kept it open. That said, any notion that Disney would be using the space for a new attraction probably is not correct. Last I heard the ABC Sound Studio will eventually be home to an expanded indoor JTA as part of Star Wars Land (whenever they move forward with it) leaving little space for a new ride.

I like doing this show,I can understand them closing it if they actually go and build something worthwhile to replace it but would be upset if it closes and the theater just sits there.

I'm hoping the attraction does close and they put something worthwhile there.

Also wouldn't mind the tv show going away either.

If no one is there?;):)

Disney was just late to the game with AIE and missed most of the "Glory Years" of AI.

I am only "half-kidding" that there may not be anyone in the audience by January.

Ahhh, yes, the age old question....if a tree falls in the forest and there is no on there to hear, does it makes a sound?

We watched the AIE once...that was enough. Hoping the rumors about the start of Star Wars land is true....but doubting it. Disney is just so slow in reacting to things.....I mean yeah, we have a Star Wars movie coming out in 2015, but hey, Avatar was 5 years ago and they have waited to start on that land for so long people can't even remember why it wasn't a good idea 5 years ago, lol.

Nothing official, but there now seems to be a lot of "talk" that JTA will go into the AIE building when AIE closes.

I can definitely see that being a possibility.

What I don't understand, and quite frankly find it really annoying, is we " hear" things from other places on the internet seems like 9 times out of 10 before The Disney Co makes an official announcement on their own site

Does this bother any of you ? Why do you think they hold back on info ? Seems like a real cat and Mouse ;) game to me

They have to let people on the "inside" know what is going on before making it public. Employees need to be aware of things before a big company announcement so they can handle any questions or concerns from customers...and employees tend to talk which starts "rumors" before things are announced publicly.

This is the same with any company (or should be). Can you imagine hearing that your job was being eliminated (not saying that's happening with Disney...just using a common example) when the company announced to the public that they were closing down your location? Or maybe your job isn't eliminated but you hear the public announcement and then you THINK your job will be eliminated and worry about all sorts of stuff only to find out later that you are just being transferred to a different location or some such? Big announcements should always be made internally first to employees...at least the employees affected...before any public "official" announcement is made.

FYI - Cameron has two more Avatar movies in the works right now. Expected release...you guessed it....2017....
