Please be nice,
I called CRO the other day w/ quesions about the Boardwalk Grand Villa's and luckily got ressies. I'm not a DVC member but w/all the money I've spent in the past I should have been. My questions: Because I'm not a member, can I get bumped of my ressie? Are all the Views from the BGV's water (Crescent lake) views? Is this walk I'm hearing about to the elevators really that LONG? Only going to be there for 5 days w/family of 6 adults, we are used to monorail resorts, will we be happy? Please let me know. Just love the idea of a handy washer/dryer, won't be doing any cooking but of course the frig sure beats the mini frig in the suites. Thanks to all:wave2:

With all the $$ you have spent there, yes, you should have been a DVC member. You might want to take a gander at some of the resale sites for BWV after your fabulous stay in the GV. As for your answers:
1) You cannot be bumped now, regardless of your unfortunate non-member status ;). You have a firm reservation thru CRO and likely put down your credit card on it.
2)All the GV views are Boardwalk views, and they are all great from what I understand.
3) since you are in a GV and therefore on the Boardwalk side, it is not that long a walk to the elevators. The really long walks are way down at the quiet pool/ MGM/ parking lot view rooms
4) Tho you are used to the monorail hotels, you will love the BWV location, and its proximity to Epcot & MGM and really good dining (at BW, Epcot and Swan/Dolphin restaurants). If you get homesick for the monorail, you can always hoof it over to the Epcot main entrance and grab it there.
Also, the washer/ dryer and kitchen facilities are great to have. Have a light breakfast in the room and keep your snacks nice and fresh; or get yourself a nice bottle of wine at France, Italy or Germany (or the local grocery), and sip it on the balcony while you socialize with your friends and people-watch on the BW.

I hope you will be very happy:wave2:

A little more: all the GV's are clustered near the center of the boardwalk over the general store and from all you overlook the lake and can see Epcot. None is far from the elevator. From BW it is a quick walk to Epcot (about 7 to 8 minutes and walking is most often faster than the boat). It is a 15 to 20 minute walk to MGM (depending on pace) and even that is sometimes faster than the boat because the boat stops at YC/BC and Swan/Dolphin first. I am one of those who years ago stayed only at monorail resorts. Then stayed once at an Epcot resort and realized I would never go back to those monorail resorts. It is the best location in WDW because you can walk to the other Epcot resort hotels, walk to two parks, have the boardwalk and you are within walking distance of about 20 restaurants when you count those in the parks. Finally if you have never been in a GV, be prepared. They are as big as a house and will make those rooms you had at the monorail resorts look like closet space.

We toured through a BWV grand villa this past December and were just speechless at the beauty and spaciousness of these units!

The walk to/from the elevators seemed short, and the view from the 3! huge balconies (at least on this unit) were amazing! I think you will love it there!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I will keep my ressie for BWGV, sounds wonderful. Can't wait to get there. Thanks again, Linda from California
