We used Randy almost 6 years ago before he became so popular......We never once regretted out decision & have suggested him to many couples that have been equally happy.
He is a great, laid back guy & his photos are magical.

I chose Randy for similar reasons to everyone else...almost every photo that I saw on these boards that I LOVED was a Randy pic....and then when i contacted him and found out his prices I was totally sold, he is being very accommodating to my requests (he is staying with us for 4 or 5 hours in the afternoon, leaving, then coming back for the DP) and I have loved dealing with him so far.

Hii

Can I ask who you are using now and what made you change your mind? :)

I changed because the photographer didn't have my wedding day open and after thinking about it, I really wanted to get the pictures done on the same day of the wedding rather than putting time aside to do it the next day.

I'm with Vicki and David Arndt now with a "after wedding" shoot at the Wilderness Lodge.

By the way, have any brides here gotten a photo session at the wilderness lodge, or gotten married there and have pictures?

How much are David and Vicki?

I'm using the 4 hour "Kiss the Girl" Package:

For $1400 you have the two photographers, an 8x8 photo book of 50 photos, 4 8x10 photos, a DVD of your photos and a website

If you just take the DVD and website you can pay $1000

AND

They are offering 15% off for Disney Brides....

So I'm paying $850 for two photographers for four hours....

It was a tough choice between Randy and Vicki/David but I think having the second photographer is what sold us.

You WILL absolutely love the two of them  and their work!

For a while, I was sure I was going with Randy Chapman. He does beautiful work and was very well recommended. After Emily came on here and posted her photos taken by Misty, I just knew that I had to have her! She had such a different eye than I had seen and a feminine touch. She was relatively inexpensive for what we got and she even stayed after to get some final shots!

Compared to NY photography, she was top notch! The only regret is that my sister did not fly her up to NY to photograph her wedding!

Our daughter got married on the Wonder in November 2009....she chose Jennifer Werneth she was WONDERFUL......

It was pretty easy for us to choose really, I read a lot of TRs and everytime I loved somebody's photos when I read their TR it was the Roots that took them.

I contacted Nathan and jensey and we arranged an engagement session during our trip last October (I'm a pretty awkward, unphotogenic person, so had to be certain I'd be comfortable in a photographer being around all day) to see how we liked them.

We had an amazing time with them and now they are all booked for our big day.

They do cost more than some of the other popular photographers on this board, but I'm such a worrier that for me a few hundred dollars to be 100% confident that our photos will be exactly what we want is a trade off I'm completely happy to make.

Also, during our photographer research phase I e-mailed a couple other photographers, one didn't respond and one of the replies was such awful grammar and spelling that I was instantly put off.

Sorry for the babble, in short:

1 - Go with the style that appeals to you.
2 - Talk/e-mail with your chosen photographer to check they understand what you want out of your photos and that you like them.
3 - Make sure the price is right.

You do realize there is a difference between posting a message on a board and sending a professional response correct? If they send me a professional letter and can't be bothered to hit spell check it makes me wonder what other areas they can't be bothered with an extra moment on.

Oh, and yes you were making fun of her. If that's your thing go for it but please call it what it is otherwise it's just called being passive agressive.

Please don't get mad at what I'm about to say. I know I'm new on here, but when I read this, I just thought it was so funny how you criticized a photographer for their spelling and grammar, when yours is bad.:rotfl:
"Every time" is two words, not one. "Jensey" is a name and should be capitalized. "Unphotogenic" is not a word. There's more, and I'm really not making fun of you. I just thought it was funny.:rotfl2::lmao:
Hilarious, thanks. Good job I'm not trying to get you to spend thousands of dollars with me then isn't it? You sound even harder to please than I am.

Bolding is mine.

Photographer is singular; their is plural. Possessive pronouns need to agree with their antecedents in order for a sentence to be grammatically correct. (Notice the plural-plural in my sentence.) I could have pointed out more in your post too, but I thought I'd give you just a small taste of your own medicine.

FYI, playing grammar cop on a veteran, well-liked poster isn't the best way to get a warm welcome on the Dis.

OMG That is so funny! I thought it was funny too!!

Not

I think there's a huge difference in someone typing out a quick message on a forum and an e-mail from a professional vendor that wants your business.

I guess we can't all be perfect like you.

Oh, my goodness, I was afraid it might come off that way and I shouldn't have posted it. I'm so sorry. I sincerely thought it was funny because I am the last one to do a spell check on anything except for official or business e-mails. Most of the time, you'll see me leave out letters and even words. I honestly didn't mean for it to be mean or hurtful. You were very helpful when I sent you the PM asking about the two photographers you spoke of.

I think e-mailing and grammar say a lot about the character of the company, not just the photography itself. I agree with you 100%. I certainly want quick responses and a reasonable turn around time as well as personality and product. Thank you again for all the information you gave me. As I said in the PM before my "bad girl" post, I sincerely appreciate your help.

Thanks again,
April

Don't worry, honestly.

It's hard sometimes trying to get a point across in text. The lack of tone, and facial expression gets everyone in awkward situations sometimes!

All behind us as far as I'm concerned. Get to the planning so I can be nosey! ;)

We pikked Randy as he was nice. and we liked his photos That we had seen and, his, prices was good.

I booked the photographer with the AWFUL email responses, lol!! So I know exactly who you are referring too! I just laugh it off because I love the work he or she does ( I don't want to mention who it is, as it may turn some off). The emails are horrible and there is no use of punctuation...
