I've never gotten wet on POC, but it really depends on Splash Mountain. I've gotten soaked and other times just a few drops. But the drop doesn't really soak you, it's other logs coming down and splashing that really gets you wet!

It's interesting to note that there is very little (virtually none) "wetness" on Splash Mtn. without the water that's "pumped-in" and "cannoned" or sprayed onto guests.

Contrary to "common knowledge" the "splashes" on
Splash Mountain are overwhelmingly NOT caused by the
logs hitting the water in the troughs (a very few
small ones are.)

The heavy drenching water effects (including the BIG
one at the bottom of the final drop) are actually
"sprayed" and/or "launched" at guests by adjustable
water pumps and/or water cannons.

Disney actually holds a patent on the Splash Mtn. "logs" that is specifically for a vehicle that does NOT splash much water.

The first spot that can drench guests is right after you have exited the first lift-hill following boarding.
As you watch other logs travel down the "final big drop", at that log's "splash-down," a large water-cannon can shoot gallons of water over onto YOUR log. The CM's will usually shut off that cannon in cold weather (but not always.)

There is that one spot after the first internal drop that can cause some back-splash into the log, but most of the rest of the wetness is due to intentional (and controllable) "pumping."
Even the "big finale's" water comes from electric water misters inside the tunnel after the big drop.

Sometimes the waterfall in the area where you are held just prior to the "Zip a Dee Do Dah" boat will splatter the right-side guests pretty good, too.
But that is also controlled.

A- See my long post #4 above.
B- Never have gotten wet in dozens and dozens of rides.
C- Expect that the splashes on Splash Mtn. will be very much lowered if it is cold out.

Never got wet on Pirates.

On Splash Mountain, I have gotten wet sitting up front. Not soaking, but still wet enough to be noticed.

On Pirates, there's a slim chance you may get a tiny splash...nothing to worry about.

On Splash Mountain, you will probably get very wet. I was in the front row on one ride and when we down the drop, the water kicked up and sprayed me directly in the face like someone kicked the cap off a fire hydrant. Needless to say, I was soaked. ;) That was oin October though when it was still warm. In the winter, they tone it down!

Rode it 5+ times, only 1 time did I get pretty wet (2nd seat) Other times were some to none. I noticed the last time they had water coming from an area in the middle of the ride & that was where I got wet, it was 95 degrees out so I welcomed it :)

A ride on Splash can vary from a "few drops" to "pretty wet"

In June, I was sitting in the third row, on the right.

While the rest of family, who sat in the first two rows, and my son who was sitting next to me, remained virutally dry, I got absolutely soaked by that first cannon. I'm talking soaking wet. My shorts were so wet, I felt uncomfortable for hours!

I have heard that if you sit towards the front, on the left, you have less of a chance of the water from the cannons hitting you.

I'm trying that next time!:thumbsup2

As other poster have said, you really don't get wet on Pirates. Maybe a very very light mist.

For Splash Mountain, you always have that chance of getting soaked even though most of the time you won't. I've ridden Splash at least 20 to 25 times over the past 10 years. I have only gotten competely drenched one time. Most of the time, I get a little damp but it's not too bad even for December.

However, if you're going in December, that one total drenching could happen on your ride. To be safe, wear a poncho.

I rode it twice on our trip two weeks ago and just had a fine mist on the face going down the drop. I was fortunate to miss the water canons both times. On the first ride though, two people in the back of the boat got soaked as the water canon hit them just right.
