How wet do you get on Splash Mountain?

I got soaked. We rode it in August for the first time. I was on the right side, not in the very front. I got hit with water from the side that went all down into the seat, then when we went down the hill I got hit full in the face with water like somebody dumped a bucket over my head. That was about 9:30 AM and my shorts were wet until about 3 PM.

It doesn't matter where I sit, I always get soaked on Splash...and I'm not a particularly large person. Also, I always seem to get the seat that already has a puddle of water on it; so I'm wet and uncomfortable before the ride even begins.

We rode during the soft opening about a week ago. Since the last time we wer there, they'd added a water cannon that shot over the boat going down the big falls, directly into our boat. We got soaked to the skin! The splash we got at the bottom of the big drop was nothing compared to that. We walked around wet all day, and it was a fairly cool day. We won't try that again without ponchos.

YEP - AGREE. That canon has been there for a while. It killed me last May & October. It will shoot as the log is coming down the big drop, as you are going up a big incline. It was like someone dumped a 5 gallon bucket of water on me. I have never gotten very wet until that time. If you are on the left side of the log, you are probably safer.

Honestly, it depends on where you sit. I've walked off that ride so wet it looks like I just got out of a pool, and other times I MAY have gotten a drop on me..

I think it's depends on various things. First of all, the time of year; the hotter it is, the more water cannons they have working, and the more water comes out, and vice versa if it's cold. Secondly, where you sit; if you sit in the front, then you have a greater chance of getting wet, although I've sat in the front before and didn't get soaked. And, thirdly, the timing; your log moves at different paces (I think), depending on the speed of the water, how many logs are in front of you, and the distance they're away from you, etc, so you may just miss a cannon.

If you don't want to get wet, you should just buy or bring a cheap poncho with you. But, it's nice when it's hot out

It depends. On chilly nights I have been on Splash and not gotten a drop of water on me. During the day I have gotten so soaked that I might as well have just jumped in a pool. A lot of it depends on if they have the extra water features turned on, and how much water they are spraying. If you go on during the day and the weather is warm you can count on getting pretty wet.

I THOUGHT theyt turned off the cannons at times. we took DD for the 1st time during MVMCP and didn't get wet at all. I took her on during a Sun EEMH a few times and I got soaked, I gave her my windbreaker and she was fine.

It all depends on timing. On my last trip, the first time i rode it i got a little wet, as in, i dryed off completely in about 5 minutes. later on i won a free fast pass (i found a paintbrush! =] ) went on and got drenched. we were just going round the corner after the drop, right before the little bridge when another log came down and we got soaked by them. luckily i had a tankini on so just took my t shirt off and hung it over my back pack to dry.

I no sooner sit down and I'm already wet.
Actually, later in the day the seats are usually more than damp, so I absorb whatever is there...ugh...and I squish and squeek (shoes) for the rest of the after/evening.
One year we took ponchos because we were doing e-ticket night and wanted to have repeat rides.

I still got wet.
It's a great excuse, if you need one, to get another sweatshirt or tee.

I wonder if they turn the water features off during all of the parties. We have rode during Mnsshp, and not gotten a drop of water on us. Maybe they don't want too many parents screaming that their children's costumes were ruined. It would cost Disney an arm and a leg to replace all those princess constumes

It is all a turn of fate on were you sit, what you get stuck under, and timing. I have riden both and not gotten wet then on other trips I have been completely soaked.

Our family sat in the first 2 front seats and were soaked.
We wished we had waited until later in the day because
it took longer to dry with the high humitity.

I watched the drop several times while waiting for the parade and didn't see (or notice) the water cannons spray. But it sure was there the next week. LOL

In September, we rode Splash at around noon. We were in the 3rd row. And we got off completely soaked! So did everyone else in our log. So in the summer the whole log could be competely drenched.

Just rode Splash on 2/20. It was easy to watch and see the water cannons were on, even spraying people watching on the bridge. We got the last seat, but got soaked by the water cannon as a log came down the big drop. Luckily it was warm enough not to be uncomfortable. A day later at Kali Rapids, I decided to wear my cheap poncho because I had long pants on -- DH didn't wear his and we got soaked -- not by the drop but the geysers at the top of the lift hill. DH spent the rest of the day drying out. He had a poncho, but decided not to wear it -- I think it's like asking for directions

Just don't ride it on a day you are wearing jeans, or jean shorts - LOL! The one day I wore jean shorts, is the day we rode splash mountain - it took them a long time to dry. It was hot, so I wasn't cold, just damp jeans aren't so comfortable - LOL!

I was in the very front log in the front seat (DL) and I got soaked. The water just flows right over the log into your lap after the drop. No, I didn't have a change of clothes. Just had to walk around till I dried.

Very soaked! We were on the way up and a splash from one of the other boats going down soaked us. It was quite a shock. Don't ride it if you aren't interested in getting very wet. We got another splash on the way down but I wouldn't say we got any wetter. We laughed and laughed. After all, it is Splash Mountain so you should expect to get splashed.

My son and I rode Splash Mtn. in August and as we came around the bend at the bottom of the ride, another log plunged down the big hill and the spray from it SOAKED us. We were in the back row. I could see it coming and turned so it was my back that got soaked, but my son was completely drenched. We went on Kali River Rapids that same trip and my husband and three kids and myself got of it bone dry! You never know what you're going to get on these two rides. I was disappointed with Kali (very short ride), but I NEVER miss Splash Mtn!

Depends on if the hose/splash things are working. If not, then you'll barely get splashed. But most the time they're working, so you'll usually get pretty wet.

I can guarentee you that you will at least get one drop of water on you. The seats themselves are usually wet when you get in them.
