How wet do you get on rides-going in December

Hi,

Will be in DL on December 27th, coming from Toronto. First time in DL and we are leaving for a cruise the next day, so we know it'll be very busy, but we had no other day.

We would love to try Tiana's Bayou Adventure, but don't want to be soaked in December when it's colder. Does it make sense to go on this ride? Don't plan on carrying a change of clothes as we will be taking an uber from Long beach.

Any other rides we get really wet on that maybe we avoid?

TIA

Tiana's and Grizzly River Rapids in DCA will get you wet. You might get splashed on Pirates. If the sun is out, you should be able to dry out if you ride midday.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure was the most wet I've EVER gotten on a water ride. The worst drop isn't even the final one - it's the one where you're shrunk down to the size of a frog. A GIANT wave came over the entire log and every inch of my body was soaked. It was genuinely insane. I was so glad I wore my flip flops instead of my sneakers when I rode it.

I guess we will not be going on it then LOL

Yep - that'll happen on the Disneyland version. The boats take on water and they didn't fixt that with the retheme. Back in the day I had worn a plastic poncho and was still soaked to the bone with inches of water in the bottom of the boat. Our shoes were soaked!

Yeah, Tiana's absolute soaked me to the core. Next time we're going to rent a main street locker and bring a change of shoes just for that ride because walking around in wet shoes/socks wasn't it.

We rode Tiana in early January. Wore ponchos and I had brought a large garbage bag to set my backpack into. It would have been soaked sitting on the floor without it. I think I'm going to get some rain booties for this trip. Lots of people coming off the ride were absolutely soaked.

I've been ok riding in the late morning (so I can dry off during the warmest part of the day) with a cheap poncho and switching to sandals to avoid the worst of it. That trip I had a waterproof backpack, but if I didn't, I would likely just put it in a trash bag. To me, that's the best balance of getting to experience the ride without being thoroughly soaked, and still not going through the trouble to bring/store a full change of clothes.

You get SOAKED on Tiana’s.

Like I literally had a whole real wave wash over me
It went in everything. Completely soaked.
And it’s not the big drop at the end, it’s the first two inside of the mountain.
I learned to avoid the front of the log, that’s the worst seat in my opinion.

A poncho is a wonderful investment

Oh man - that time I was talking about riding Splash - I was with my buddy who is a big guy and the CM took a look at him and put us in the front. I was like...dude! Still though, that was my first time riding since they changed whatever they changed to get you soaked, and was not expecting it to be like THAT! It was brutal. To cap it off, it was a rainy day, so we were just soaked through at the end of the day. We popped into the CVS on harbor to get some spray for our shoes!

Do NOT underestimate how wet you’ll get on the front of Tiana’s. I don’t mind getting wet but it’s way too much. I love the ride though so my strategy is to use the single rider line because when you do that you almost always end up in the back and it’s not too bad back there

I got pretty wet riding Splash in 2018. Like, leave the park and change wet. That was NOTHING compared to how wet we got when we rode Tiana's on Friday. The best part was one of my friends kept insisting "you don't get that wet." I knew, so I insisted it be our last ride if the night, and then I made him go in front 😂 the inky dry shot he had was behind his knees. We were all absolutely soaked.

I wish they would add the temp lockers like they have at GRR. It takes too much time for us to go to the lockers on Main Street, grab all of our water ride gear, and then go back to the lockers after the ride.

Yeah, I'm a bigger guy and they put me in the front. Felt like we were a lawn dart on that first bad drop when you eat half the water on the ride. ha!

I think they do it on purpose! I mean, I know I could have asked them for a different row, but, you know. If anything, it's something that we still talk about!

From the bottom of my heart, I wanted to say thank you to everyone.

I thought like most "it'll only be a little wet". I'm bringing answer of cheap sandals for everyone on my trip.

If they seat you in the front you might as well jump into the hotel pool with your clothes on. If you listen closely, you can actually hear the deluge of water that hits you laughing at your attempts to lessen the blows with ponchos and trash bags for your stuff.
