How wet do ya get?? (Splash Mt/Grizzly River Run)

It is my understanding that both GRR and Splash have different settings that affect how wet guests can get. These are changed between summer and winter.

I've heard this too. But a couple years ago we rode 3 times in a row during a wet, cold week and hardly anyone was getting wet. I asked the CM about different settings and sh he swore there wasn't anything they do to control it.

I still think they can/do.

What others have said - splash mountain it totally depends on where you sit and who else is in your boat. today BF, sister and I were in the last three rows with all adults in front of us, and the first time we got a few drops but not remotely wet. this evening, we three were in the front (sister in front being the smallest), and i didn't even notice size wise who was behind us...and we all got drenched. sister looked like she had taken a shower. i was completely soaked in the butt/one leg. it was nuts.

I'm one of those weird poncho wearing people. I just can't stand walking around in wet pants/undies. So, I wear my keens and my poncho (I keep our park bag on my lap under the poncho.) My hair and feet may get wet, but the rest of me stays dry.

You might get splashed and you might get drenched... I think there is some "luck" to it. They are my DD's favorite rides, so we have gone on them over and over again. You can minimize some of the water from Splash if you sit at the back and have a lighter boat... but if you ride either of them a few times in a row, you'll be pretty wet at the end.

Reminds me of our last trip in October. First time through, wife and I were in the back, barely got wet. Our last day there (our flight left at like 6pm that day, so we did a 3hr visit) the wife got the brilliant idea of saying we should do it again, knowing i'm a sucker for splash mountain. Got stuck in the front and I came out looking like a drowned rat. We landed back at SFO around 8pm and I was still wet, and the ride was around noon.

This is an example of my theory that the amount of water dumped on you will be the exact opposite of the amount you are hoping it will be. :rotfl: We don't always get drenched on either ride, but we do tend to get soaked those times that we are hoping that we won't.
