How we're giving away the last podcast cruise

Aw that's a cute idea...it means I can't win, but still cute. Looking forward to seeing who gets it! Good luck to all the cruisers :thumbsup2

Oh Wow!!!! This is the closest we'll ever be to winning this !!!:goodvibes

I hope it's up before we go to work Wednesday!!!:cutie: :yay:

can't wait to hear who wins! good luck to all. :thumbsup2 :wizard:

This is a great way to see the podcast cruise be selected.
Well done to the team for rewarding 1 lucky person who has booked.

Good luck everyone :)

Good luck to everyone!

(My fingers are crossed!)

Not to be a party pooper, but does this seem kind of "wrong" to anyone else? Normally giveaways like this have a "no purchase necessary" method of entering to avoid the sweepstakes being an illegal lottery. I assume no regular listener will report them, but I would hate to see Dreams get in trouble with law enforcement when they're just trying to give something away!

Hmmm....ever heard the saying...don't look a gift horse in the mouth? I seriously doubt giving away something in this fashion is illegal. Its amazing that they can't even give something away without complaints.....

Generally, an illegal lottery is defined as a contest that awards a prize that is determined by chance to a person who has paid something of value to enter the contest. This explains why we so often hear "no purchase necessary" following an ad for a sweepstakes: Promotions in which prizes are awarded on the basis of chance do not constitute illegal lotteries if entrants do not have to pay any money to enter or to win.

I have to ask, why are you bringing this up? Somehow, it doesn't seem like it's altruism, although I could be wrong.

Well, then maybe it could be called a raffle. Anyone who purchased a cruise got a ticket for the raffle.

It's kind of sad that they can't be really nice without someone being mad :(

Exactly! It's a door prize!

It's a floating party, and although you have to pay admission to get into the party, those who are there get in the drawing for a fantastic door prize!

We need a durn lawyer around here to keep the naysayers in line...HEY! I KNOW A LAWYER!

It's just something that occurred to me. It struck me almost immediately on reading the original post.

FWIW, I'm not mad or upset about anything.

I'm sure John (or another podcaster) will be along shortly to settle this once and for all. There's always someone that's gonna poopoo the good things the team wants to do for ALL of us. Remember the DISer (can't remember who it was) that was upset that they had to book through DU in order to be a part of the Podcast Cruise festivities? I believe they wanted to use DVC points too or some such??
