How well can you see Fireworks from California Grill?

We usually don't like to deal with the crowds for fireworks, parades, etc. How good is the view at California Grill for the fireworks? Is it a pretty good view and do they pipe in the music?

This is of course assuming we can get an ADR there! Thanks!

It is very good. They have a large balcony you can go out on for the viewing and they do pump the music in

I really like watching Wishes/MK fireworks from California Grill. They pipe in the music to both the observation decks and the restaurant dining room. A few tables have a view of Wishes, but those are pretty hard to come by. You can ask for a window table, but they do not promise to have one available before fireworks.

I like watching from the observation deck because there is no glass to get in the way. The fireworks appear to right of the castle, somewhat over Space Mountain. This is the view from the observation deck:

Here a picture from the back catwalk. They pipe in the music during the fireworks, but nothing before and no voice over. It's different than being in the magic kingdom. Worth trying.

Watching Fireworks from our window table at California Grill is one of the memories my kids always talk about all the time. Will never forget that night.

My hubby and i will be in Disney in October. We would like to try Cali Grille for my B-day on our arrival day (hopefully we'll get a reservation).

In all our trips we have never been there and we'd like to try somewhere different.

i'd like to know what their dress code is and what time we should book dinner to finish in time to view the fireworks. Or will they let you get up then finish after the fireworks?

Also, how would you compare CG to the Yachtsmen Steakhouse.

When you say "no voice over" do you mean the announcements saying fireworks will be starting in a few minutes or the audio track when the lady is speaking during the fireworks? I ask because when I've been there the entire audio track played (music, speaking parts, etc.) just like it does in the parks. There were no announcements saying "in just a few minutes" leading up to the show.

Yes, the server know that a lot of guests will watch fireworks, so they will work with you to time your meal properly. My family often has appetizers and then entrees, watches the fireworks, and then returns to the table for dessert. In terms of Yachtsman versus CA Grill, I like CA Grill a lot more than Yachtsman. I thought Yachtsman was good, but it was a pretty standard (upscale) steakhouse, whereas CA Grill has a more varied menu and a vibrant atmosphere.

Dress code is the same as at all the Signatures--no need to dress up. JUst avoid the few "not permitted items (swimwear, torn clothes, tanktops on men,t-shirts with "offensive" pictures.


We try to get our reservation about an hour and a half before the fireworks begin.

Yes you can go back up after dinner if you finish early--all you need is your dinner receipt.
