how waterproof are uggs?

i'm in desperate need of a decent pair of boots. i just opened the nordstrom site to try to find a pair, and one of the first thing i saw was uggs. i'm thinking about getting them, but how do they do against snow/slush?

Mine always got soggy and uncomfortable when I used them when it rained once but that was like 2 years ago so maybe they have changed

Not at all.
Sheepskin/suede isn't waterproof.
You have to buy a special spray to waterproof the boots.

Yeah I have a pair..and they do well in like...a drizzle. I wouldn't wear them in the snow or heavy rain.

the spray doesnt completly protect them. if they get liked soaked, they're most likely ruined. If you wear them the way people wear snow boots, to like shovel or play in the snow, they'll get destroyed. if you wear them to like walk from the car to the house outside then they'll be fine, just avoid large puddles

Yea.. Lets just say Uggs and Water do NOT mix. I wore my ugg boots in NY on a winter trip, it was raining BUCKETS... My ugg boots got completely thrashed, and my feet were cold and wet. On the upside though, after spraying the ugg protection spray on them again after they dried out, they look fine.

I put the spray on.
And I've worn them in downpours, shoveling, snowball fights, etc.
And they're fine.

I wouldn't recommend jumping into the pool with them on, but they're pretty waterproof.
